    • The present invention is directed to an agricultural covering in form of a woven plastic fabric (10) that includes an area (25) having a lower density of warp threads (12) per unit width compared to the adjacent areas (24, 26) adapted for effortless and effective threading of a securing element (30) through the fabric (10) to encircle a plurality of weft threads (14). By providing multiple reinforced areas (28) spaced in machine direction (120) and extending in a cross-machine direction (140) of the fabric (10), the tear propagation resistance, and/or the weathering resistance and/or the tensile strength of the fabric (10) is improved. By applying a plastic coating (18) such that a strip (22) adjacent to each of the border edges (16) is left uncoated and by attaching the securing element (30) to the fabric (10) in the uncoated strip (22), the breaking load is increased.

    • An engineering-purpose netted vegetation blanket (20) includes a plurality of mesh units (22) arrayed and interwoven into rows. The mesh units (22) each have borders loop-knitted using thick threads to form a double-layer structure including an upper and a lower thick-thread layer, and a plurality of curved thin threads (25) that are so woven to locate between the upper and the lower thick-thread layer and be sequentially arrayed and extended between two adjacent ones of the borders while protruding from a plane defined by the borders. The mesh units (22) are so arrayed that the mesh units (22) in any two adjacent rows are in staggered relation, such that a void (28) is formed between any two adjacent mesh units (22). With these arrangements, the netted vegetation blanket (20) is flexible and can be wound into roll, and helps in easy growth of grass and plants, preventing soil erosion and retaining compost to achieve the purpose of greening environment.

    • A unidirectional geotextile fabric (24) for use in reinforcement of earthen retaining walls, embankment, slopes and related structures. The fabric is an open grid of high modulus of elasticity strands (26) extending in the weft direction and strands (28) of comparatively lower modulus of elasticity material extending in the warp direction. The fabric is preferably coated with a curable resinous material of sufficient thickness to protect the glass strands from breaking as the fabric is rolled onto cores and unrolled at the job site. When laying the fabric, a roll of the fabric is placed at one end of the face of the earthen structure being constructed and simply unrolled in a direction generally parallel to the structure's face. Because the high modulus strands of the fabric are the weft strands they extend and inhibit soil movement in a direction substantially perpendicular to the face of the structure.
