摘要： A machine for automatically producing a mattress border with handles sewn to the border material. Border material (16) is pre-fed and handle material (33) is fed from a selected spool mounted in a multiple handle material spool magazine mounted on rails, fed into a handle folding assembly, and cut to length (36). Ends of the handle material are folded under by the handle folding assembly and the handle then transferred in a folded condition from the handle folding assembly to a correct position on the border material. A double folded handle press holds each folded end of the handle material in place as each end is maneuvered under a sewing head needle to apply a stitch pattern to secure the folded ends to the border material. The double frame handle press (90) is translated separately from the carriage which travels in the sew pattern, to position the handle under the sewing needle.

摘要： A sewing machine for attaching tapes (12) to a web (24) includes a web feed station (22), a sewing station (26) and a transfer mechanism (45) to transfer the web from the sewing station to a collection zone (47). The sewing station includes a sewing head that moves across the web to sew the tape. The tape (12) has hooks (14) periodically spaced along the tape and movement of the sewing head is initiated by sensing one of the hooks (14) at a predetermined locator. Successive tapes may then be sewn with the hooks aligned.

摘要： A seaming assembly for placing seams in a continuously moving web of material. The seaming assembly includes a first support that is movable in a machine direction and a second support which is secured to the first support. The second support is movable relative to the first support in a cross direction. A seaming mechanism is mounted on the second support to place seams in the web that are at least partially in the cross direction. The first support may be movable in the machine direction at a speed that is substantially the same as the web such that the seaming mechanism places seams in the web that are substantially in the cross direction.
