摘要： Apparatus for removing and collecting fiber waste from a creel stand (10) having multiple, juxtaposed creel sections including an air suction/blower (30) blowing a first air stream across the top of the creel sections and creating a second air stream flowing across the bottom of the creel sections. An air deflector (40) reciprocating across the top of the creel sections deflects the first air stream downwardly through the creel sections. A bottom plenum (60) beneath the creel sections receives the air stream from the creel sections and confines and directs the second air stream to the suction/blower (30). A second blower (70) blows air through the bottom plenum toward the suction/blower to assist the suction/blower in creating the second air stream. A plurality of baffles (64-66) are included in the bottom plenum (60) to provide laminar air flow therein.

摘要： The invention relates to a device and to a method for producing knitted fabric, said device having a knitting machine and a roving drafting and consolidating unit. Said roving drafting and consolidating unit has a roving storage unit having at least one roving, an auxiliary-thread storage unit having at least one auxiliary thread, a drawing frame, which is coupled to the roving storage unit for feeding of the roving and to the auxiliary-thread storage unit for feeding of the auxiliary thread, a spinning nozzle apparatus, which is arranged downstream of the drawing frame in the roving conveying direction of the device and which forms a fiber consolidation section by application of compressed air, and an end-thread clamping roller pair, which is arranged downstream of the spinning nozzle apparatus in the roving conveying direction and bounds the fiber consolidation section and can be rotated in opposite directions. According to the invention, in order to be able to produce a soft knitted fabric reliably by means of a device and a method of the mentioned type by using at least one auxiliary thread for roving formation, at least one rotational-speed-adjustable auxiliary-thread clamping roller pair, between the auxiliary-thread clamping rollers of which the auxiliary thread is guided, is provided in the device of the type in question between the auxiliary-thread storage unit and the drawing frame or the spinning nozzle apparatus and, in the method of the type in question, the auxiliary thread is guided between the auxiliary-thread storage unit and the drawing frame by at least one rotational-speed-adjustable auxiliary-thread clamping roller pair, which rotates in opposite directions.

摘要： A flat bed knitting apparatus and method of knitting are provided in which needles (32) movably carried in opposing needle beds (30, 40) are selected and actuated for movement between various positions required for stitch formation independently of any other needles while completing the formation of a stitch on each selected needle prior to the actuation of the next needle in sequence and while varying the length of needle movement to its stitch forming position as required for uniform stitches throughout the fabric and in which a covered spandex yarn is fed to the needles while varying the tension thereof for uniform stitch formation. The needle selection and actuation further includes tapering the knit fabric by transferring stitches from selected needles in one needle bed onto adjacent needles in the other needle bed so that the knit fabric formed is a tapered, tubular knit product.
