    • A heat-resistant exfoliated graphite sheet which comprises an exfoliated graphite and, dispersed therein, an organic phosphorus compound in a proportion of 0.1 to 10 wt %; and a method for producing the heat-resistant exfoliated graphite sheet which comprises treating a graphite material with an strong acid to prepare an acid-treated graphite material, mixing the acid-treated graphite material homogeneously with a predetermined amount of an organic phosphorus compound by agitating, subjecting the resulting mixture to a heat treatment at a temperature of 950 to 1200°C for 1 to 10 seconds, to generate a decomposition gas and expand the space between graphite layers by the pressure of the gas, thereby preparing exfoliated graphite particles expanded with a magnification of 200 to 300, and then pressing and forming the exfoliated graphite particles. The heat-resistant exfoliated graphite sheet exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation loss even at a temperature higher than 700°C.
