摘要： A web (12) and an associated web feeding and handling apparatus (10) for performing a work operation on the web is disclosed. The apparatus feeds the web in a feed direction longitudinally of itself by means of a friction drive. The operation of the drive is controlled by lateral and longitudinal alignment indicia (84) located on the web which insure that the web is properly aligned with the feed direction as the web is initially fed into and then through the apparatus, and to insure that any bowing of the web during the work operation is corrected or compensated for.

Die Saugfläche erweitert sich mit zunehmendem Umschlingungswinkel beiderseits schräg nach aussen und hat am Ende des Umfangsabschnitts eine der Gesamtbreite der Materialbahn entsprechende Breite. 摘要： Die Zugwalzeneinheit hat lediglich eine Saugwalze (20b, 21b) als Zugwalze, bei der ein ständig wirkender Saugeffekt längs desjenigen Umfangsabschnitts wirksam ist, der von der Papierbahn umschlungen wird, während der übrige Umfangsabschnitt keinem Saugeffekt unterliegt. Die Saugwalze hat einen festen, hohlen Walzenkern (65) und einen um diesen drehbaren Walzenmantel (61) aus mit Kunststoff imprägnierten Kohlenstoffasern mit über seinen Umfang verteilten Saugöffnungen (62). Der Walzenkern (65) ist an seiner einen Seite mit einem axialen Stutzen (68b) zur Befestigung am Maschinengestell und zum Anschluss an eine Unterdruckquelle, auf seiner anderen Seite mit einem Lagerzapfen (66) und auf seinem Durchlassöffnungen (70) aufweisenden Umfang mit zwei radialen, im bestimmten Winkelabstand voneinander angeordneten Trennwänden (69) versehen, die zwischen sich eine Saugkammer einschliessen. Der Walzenmantel ist mit einem konischen Anschlussflansch (61b), der direkt auf der Läuferwelle des Antriebsmotors befestigt wird, auf dem Lagerzapfen (66) und mit seinem anderen Ende auf dem Stutzen (68b) gelagert, wobei die Spalte zwischen Walzenmantel und Trennwänden (69) näherungsweise luftdicht sind. Anstelle einer Saugwalze kann auch eine längs des erwähnten Umfangsabschnitts aussen mit Druckluft beaufschlagte Zugwalze vorgesehen sein, oder aber Saugluft- und Drucklufteffekt werden kombiniert.

摘要： A tracking assembly (10) for tracking belts (12, 52) and webs comprises a support frame (20) which is adapted to be mounted below a travelling belt or web. A straight or angled support shaft (30) is pivotally mounted at its centre via a post (32) which is rotatable within bush (26, 56) on the support frame. A selected arc of rotation of the post within the bush (26, 56) is determined by an adjustable limit stop arrangement which can take the form of a pair of grub screws. A roller is mounted onto each end of the shaft (30). The two rollers (36, 50) have tapered ends (38, 54). When the belt or web travels off centre it will come into contact with the tapered end of the roller on the side to which the belt has moved. This will cause the shaft to pivot about a vertical axis of the post (32) and thereby steer the belt back to a central position.
