    • The present invention relates to a method for making pouches (P) providing a continuous web (18); folding the web (18) to provide confronting side surfaces (22) joined along a bottom edge (24); forming a vertical seal (26) between the confronting side surfaces (22), thereby providing a series of adjacent pockets (28) having opposite side walls with each pocket having an unsealed opening (29) along a top edge (31); filling the pockets (28) through the unsealed opening (29) with material; sealing the unsealed opening (29). In the inventive method, which facilitates handling of the continuous web forming the pouches, the web (18) is perforated by a perforation (46) between a leading length piece (48) of the web (18) adapted to form a leading pocket and a trailing length piece (48) of the web (18) adapted to form a trailing pocket (28), and the distance between a trailing edge (26b) of the leading length piece (48) and a leading edge (26a) of a trailing length piece (48) is increased for tearing the leading and the trailing lengths pieces (48) apart at the perforation (46). The apparatus according to the present invention for making pouches comprises perforation means (36, 38) for perforating the continuous web (18) between a leading length piece (48) of the web (18) adapted to form a leading pocket (28) and a trailing length piece (48) of the web (18) adapted to form a trailing pocket (28), and tearing means (4, 6) adapted to tear the leading length piece (48) and the trailing length piece (48) apart by increasing the distance between a trailing edge (26b) of the leading length piece (48) and a leading edge (26a) of the trailing length piece (48).

    • Provided are a link apparatus which is capable of supplying objects to be weighed which have been discharged from a weighing machine to package bags being conveyed successively at a high speed, a weighing apparatus using the link apparatus, a packaging apparatus using the link apparatus, and a weighing and packaging system using the link apparatus. A link apparatus (30) of the present invention comprises plural funnel-shaped chutes (32) which are respectively supplied with objects to be weighed through entrances at upper portions thereof and respectively discharge the objects to be weighed through exits at lower portions thereof; and a rotary board (31) which conveys the plural chutes (32) along a revolving path in a state where the exits of the respective chutes (32) are arranged in one line in a direction along the revolving path, the revolving path including a first area (IV) under which package bags (P3) arranged in one line are conveyed in the direction along the revolving path, the first area being a part of the revolving path; wherein the entrances of the chutes (32) are formed by openings which are elongated in the direction along the revolving path; and wherein the rotary board (31) is configured to convey the chutes such that the exits of the chutes (32) are respectively located above the package bags (P3) in the first area (IV).
