    • A receipt printer comprises a discharge port configured to discharge a receipt; a conveyance section configured to convey a paper; a clamping section configured to clamp the paper in the front of the discharge port; and a controller configured to control the conveyance section to discharge the paper from the discharge port. The clamping section includes a fixed section and a movable section forming a paper insertion section, and the paper is clamped by the fixed section and the movable section if the paper is inserted into the paper insertion section. A paper conveyance direction in which the paper is directed to the paper insertion section is different from a paper discharge direction in which the paper is discharged from the discharge port. The controller controls the clamping section such that a front end of the paper is clamped with the clamping section by conveying the paper towards the paper insertion section and the paper is bent into a loop shape by further conveying the paper towards the paper insertion section from a state in which the paper is clamped by the clamping section to be discharged from the discharge port.

    • A sheet-like member holding device (70) includes a first holding unit (71) disposed between a gripper receiving portion (49) and a side wall (59a) of a gap (41), and configured to hold a base (67) of a non-metal sheet (62).     • In order to provide a printer for an electronic voting device, capable of smoothly transporting a recording sheet having a free end and capable of realizing downsizing and simplification, a container (7) includes a main body portion (7d) mounted onto a casing (6a) of a printer (6) and a movable portion (7e) attached to the mainbodyportion (7d) so as to be capable of being opened and closed. In a state where the container (7) is opened, a fanfold sheet (16) in a state where a deflection thereof is small is inserted as it is, and the movable portion (7e) is then closed with respect to the main body portion (7d). As a result, the fanfold sheet (16) is retained in the container (7) in a state where the fanfold sheet (16) is largely deflected in a U-shape. The fanfold sheet (16) can smoothly be supplied from the container (7) into the casing (6a). The printer (6) prints electronic voting contents on the fanfold sheet (16) which is smoothly supplied. When the printed content is visually confirmed, the printer (6) prints characters indicating approval thereof. After that, a printed portion of the fanfold sheet (16) is cut off to be discharged.
