    • Each of a pair of spaced apart paper feed mechanisms (34) within the paper feed system of a dot matrix line printer has opposite upper and lower portions (84,94) thereof slightly angled relative to each other and disposed on opposite sides of and close to an elongated print station having a platen (14) at one side thereof on which the paper feed mechanisms (34) are mounted. Each paper feed mechanism (34) is locked in a desired position on the platen (14) using a manually operated lever arm arrangement having a mechanical advantage. Phasing or pitch adjustment between the opposite portions (84,94) of each paper feed mechanism (34) is accomplished either by adjustment of an eccentric hub (106) rotatably mounting a pulley (102) which engages an endless belt (78) between the opposite portions (84,94) or by adjustment of a cam which engages a pivotable lever arm assembly having a belt engaging pulley at an opposite end thereof, in combination with an opposite spring mounted pulley (108) which bears against the inside of and tensions the endless belt (78). A knob rotates a common shaft (56) on which the eccentric hub (106) or the cam of each paper feed mechanism (34) is mounted to accomplish phasing adjustment. The opposite portions (84,94) of each paper feed mechanism (34) terminate in ramps which are angled to facilitate partial but not complete withdrawal of pins (82) on the belt (78) from apertures at the edges of the print paper (30) as each pin (82) advances to the end of the paper drive mechanism. A lug arrangement (208) at the end of the ramp prevents the toothed underside of the belt (78) from slipping off of the meshing teeth of a pulley about which the belt (78) extends. Slide members resiliently mounted underneath hinged covers extending over the opposite portions (84,94) of each paper feed mechanism (34) bear against and maintain the edges of the paper (30) in contact with the belts (78). Guides in the form of parallel ridges on a ribbon guide within the print station guide a length of paper introduced onto one portion of the paper feed mechanism (34) through the print station and onto the other portion.

    • Eine Transportvorrichtung für randgelochte Aufzeichnungsträger (1) besteht aus zwei im Abstand der Lochränder (1a) angeordneten Gehäuse für antreibbare, endlose Stiftriemen (5) mit jeweils einer Führungsklappe (4) für die Aufzeichnungsträger (1), wobei die Gehäuse jeweils aus zwei aneinanderlegbaren Gehäuseteilen (2,6) bestehen und an einem ersten Gehäuseteil (2) die Führungsklappe (4) schwenkbar gelagert ist, innere und äußere Leitrippen (7,10,11) für den Stiftriemen (5), an dem ersten und dem zweiten Gehäuseteil (2,6) fluchtend angeordnete Mittel zur lösbaren Befestigung der beiden Gehäuseteile (2,6), wobei zumindest die inneren Leitrippen (7) eine Anlagefläche (6a) für den zweiten Gehäuseteil (6) bilden.
      Um derartige als Schub- oder Zugtraktoren bezeichnete Transportvorrichtungen mehrfach und ohne Beschädigung der Einzelteile demontieren zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, daß in dem ersten Gehäuseteil (2) innerhalb der inneren Leitrippe (7) ein oder mehrere hohle Stehkörper (17) mit jeweils definierten, eine Grundplatte (2a) des ersten Gehäuseteils (2) durchdringende Bohrungen (17a) angeformt sind und daß die Mittel zur lösbaren Befestigung des zweiten Gehäuseteils (6) jeweils aus einem Spreizdorn (18) bestehen, der durch eine fluchtende Bohrung (6c) des zweiten Gehäuseteils (6) geführt und in die durchgehende Bohrung (17a) des hohlen Stehkörpers (17) gepreßt ist.

    • Tractor mechanism for paper traction feed printers and typewriters, said mechanism including in a holder (2) an endless belt (8) which is mounted for movement in its endless direction, as well as a drive connection for the belt. The belt has external teeth (10) intended to drive a printing medium such as a paper web or the like through the printer on movement of the belt by engagement with a row of holes along an edge of the medium. The holed edge and the toothed belt run in a gap defined by two wall portions of the holder the height of the gap being less than the height of the teeth plus the thickness of the belt, and the wall portion facing towards the teeth has a groove (26) for the teeth. The holder (2) carries a printing medium insertion means with a feeder (32) which, from an extended printing medium engagement position, in which a hole engagement means (58) carried by the feeder is brought into engagement with a part of the row of holes in the printing medium intended for insertion in the gap, is movable together with the printing medium to a drawn-in position in which a plurality of holes in the row of holes are brought into engagement with teeth (10) in the gap. Moving means are disposed in connection with the drawn-in position to move the hole engagement means (58) out of engagement with the row of holes.
