摘要： The invention relates to a method for co-extruding a complex rubber profile. Said method makes it possible to co-extrude a sub-layer of a first material and a tread of a second material with at least one insert (28) of a third material inserted into a discontinuity (D20) between the sub-layer and the tread. The method includes, in series, the steps of: a) discontinuously extruding the first material; b) profiling firstly the first material; c) discontinuously extruding the second material on the first material; d) discontinuously profiling the first and second materials and extruding the third material in each discontinuity (D20); and e) profiling finally the first, second and third materials with a longitudinal groove (26) in the profile (20) next to each insert (28) of the third material.

Such embodiments further include a plurality of projecting features arranged within the submerged void below the terminal location of the submerged void, the plurality of projecting features being further arranged in a spaced arrangement along a length of the submerged void, each of the plurality of projecting features extending partially across a width of the submerged void, which may comprise a groove, for example. The invention includes methods of forming the tread and a treaded tire.

摘要： A system for the continuous extrusion, molding, and curing of tread rubber is provided. A plurality of discrete mold sectors are arranged adjacent to each other along a longitudinal axis between an in-feed and an out-feed of a mold sector transport mechanism that extends through a heated press. As the mold sectors are continuously advanced along a process direction in steps, rubber material is extruded and placed onto at least one of the mold sectors near the in-feed end such that an elongated strip of rubber material extends over multiple mold sectors along the longitudinal axis. As the strip of rubber material exits the press, the mold sectors are sequentially removed from the rubber material and returned to the in-feed. An extruder outlet positioned near the in-feed can be moved towards or away from the mold sectors to supply rubber material and prevent backflow.
