    • The invention relates to a method for producing an ID transmitter for motor vehicles. Known methods are costly and/or involve a complicated design. In the method according to the invention, housing shell elements (10a, 10b) having a joining region (20a, 20b) made of a thermoplastic plastic are first provided, the housing shell elements (10a, 10b) are arranged and fixed in an initial position in workpiece receptacles of workpiece retainers (30a, 30b), and a heated fluid (43) is applied to surfaces of the joining regions (20a, 20b), such that at least sections near the surface are plasticized, wherein the heated fluid (43) is conducted to the surfaces of the joining regions (20a, 20b) by means of a fluid conducting device (41). The housing shell elements (10a, 10b) are then brought together at the joining regions thereof (20a, 20b) in a defined manner, such that the plasticized joining regions (20a, 20b) are pressed against each other and the housing of the ID transmitter is formed by the housing shell elements (10a, 10b), wherein the housing shell elements (10a, 10b) are held together for a time period (X) during which the joining regions (20a, 20b) cool down. Finally, the workpiece retainers (30a, 30b) are at least partially moved backed to the initial position and the ID transmitter is removed.
