摘要： A method of manufacturing a composite closure, including an outer closure cap and an inner sealing liner, comprises providing a closure cap having an annular skirt portion including an annular lip that defines an annular recess adjacent a top wall portion of the cap. Molten plastic is compression molded within the closure cap to form the inner sealing liner adjacent the top wall portion, with the periphery of the sealing liner positioned within the annular recess of the closure cap. A plurality of circumferentially spaced gussets are provided within the annular recess for controlling the flow of the molten plastic during liner formation, thereby facilitating the venting of air to abate formation of voids in the sealing liner.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a screw cap(12), wherein the screw cap having a blind hole with inner threads. According to the invention, the skirt (12) of the cap (1) is provided with frangible bridge elements (44A, 44B) which break when the cap is first opened. 摘要： An apparatus for molding a plastic closure includes a male mold assembly (12) including a forming pin (14) and an outer pin sleeve (16) which cooperate with a female mold (20) for defining a mold cavity (22). To facilitate mechanical stripping of a molded closure from the forming pin (14), pressurized air is introduced into the molded closure through at least one air passageway which extends axially between the forming pin (14) and pin sleeve (16). By outwardly expanding and forming the plastic closure during ejection from the forming pin, forces to which the closure is subjected during ejection are significantly reduced, thereby desirably reducing the amount of cooling of the closure that is required during the molding cycle prior to ejection. Significantly increased operating speeds for compression molding apparatus can thus be achieved.

摘要： A device for producing a ring-shaped body, comprises a preforming unit (200) with a ring nozzle (220) for producing a ring-shaped preform (410) by extruding a thermoplastic material, a stripper (113) for stripping off the preform (410) and a forming tool (111) for forming the ring-shaped body by compressing the preform (410) against a counterpart element (300, 400) into a desired profile. The ring-shaped body is produced by first producing a ring-shaped preform (410) by extruding a thermoplastic material through the ring nozzle (220), stripping off the preform (410) from the ring nozzle (220) and forming the ring-shaped body by compressing the preform (410) against a counterpart element (300, 400) into a desired shape. The ring nozzle (220) allows for a fast production of an even, ring-shaped preform (410) by simultaneously forming the ring along its entire circumference. Because of the ring nozzle (220), mechanically complex rotating parts such as a rotating dispensing head are not required. The stripper (113) ensures that the preform (410) is fully and evenly detached from the ring nozzle (220) with no material remaining that could block the nozzle (220). Due to the forming tool (111) the stripped-off preform (410) can immediately be compressed to obtain its final form, depending on the shape of the forming tool (111) and the counterpart element (300, 400). As no reheating of the preform (410) is required, the construction of the device is simplified.
