摘要： A method for producing a heat-shrinkable product is provided. First, a polymer composition containing a polymer, a crosslinking agent and a micro-encapsulated foaming agent uniformly dispensed therein is melt mixed. The foaming agent has a peak activation temperature which is higher than a temperature of the melt mixing. Next, the polymer composition is injection molded into a molded product. This carried out at the peak activation temperature to activate the foaming agent. Then, the molded product is crosslinked within the mold.

摘要： A method of making a foamed article comprises (a) injection molding a molten thermoplastic elastomer to form a precursor; (b) crosslinking the thermoplastic elastomer; (c) heating the thermoplastic elastomer to a first temperature to soften the thermoplastic elastomer; (d) infusing the thermoplastic elastomer with at least one inert gas at a first pressure that is sufficient to cause the at least one inert gas to permeate into the softened thermoplastic elastomer; and (e) while the article is softened, reducing the pressure to a second pressure below the first pressure to at least partially foam the precursor into a foamed article, wherein the foamed article is substantially the same shape as the precursor.

摘要： Provided is a method of producing a rubber molded article, including crosslinking a rubber compound at a temperature lower than a usual crosslinking temperature (150°C or more). The method includes a crosslinking step of crosslinking a rubber compound at a temperature of 100°C or less, the rubber compound having a nitrile structure represented by the following formula (I) and an olefin structure represented by the following formula (II), in a rubber composition containing the rubber compound and a thiol compound having at least two thiol groups in a molecule thereof: provided that R in the formula (II) represents a divalent organic group having 4 or more carbon atoms and having an unsaturated bond represented by -C=C- in a structure thereof.

摘要： An antibiotic-eluting article for implantation into a mammalian subject, produced by an additive manufacturing process wherein a polymeric material is concurrently deposited with a selected antibiotic. The additive manufacturing process may be a selective laser sintering process or a selective laser melting process or a selective heat sintering process or an electron beam melting process. The antibiotic-eluting article may be temporary or permanent orthopedic skeletal component, an orthopedic articulating joint replacement component, and/or an external hard-shell casing for an implantable device. One or more bone-growth-promoting compositions may be concurrently deposited with the polymeric material. The implantable device may be a cardiac pacemaker, a spinal cord stimulator, a neurostimulation system, an intrathecal drug pump for delivery of medicants into the spinal fluid, and infusion pump for delivery of chemotherapeutics and/or anti-spasmodics, an insulin pump, an osmotic pump, and a heparin pump.

摘要： The invention relates to a multilayered pultruded structure having a weatherable cap layer over a pultruded substrate, adhered with an appropriate tie layer. The structure provides improved weatherability and surface quality for pultruded structures. The invention is especially useful to provide a weatherable pultruded polyurethane, with an acrylic or styrenic cap layer. The weatherable polyurethane (PU) pultrusion of the invention provides an increased modulus over polyester pultrusions, making the weatherable PU pultrusion useful in commercial applications, and applications requiring a higher transverse modulus.
