摘要： Presented is an applicator and a method for hair removal. The applicator includes one or more illumination sources and at least one hair removal mechanism. The hair may be removed by mechanical means or by application of RF. The hair removal mechanism may be an exchangeable mechanism and includes such mechanisms as a rotary based tweezing epilator, spring type epilator, razor, or electric shaver. The illumination sources are xenon lamp, LEDs and a mix of them. The hair is removed by translating in a scanning motion the applicator having a hair removal mechanism over a target section of the skin and treating the section of the skin from which the hair was removed by a suitable illumination.

The shaving head carries semi-cylindrical first and second outer cutters disposed on its opposite width ends, and a semi-cylindrical finishing cutter and a slit cutter interposed between the first and second outer cutters. The finishing cutter has a finishing foil which is deeply curved than a foil of the first and second outer cutters into an arcuate contour having a width less than that of the first and second outer cutters. The finishing foil disposed behind the first outer cutter comes into contact with a user's skin to make closer shaving than the first and second cutters. A skin guard project between the first outer cutter and the finishing cutter to protect the skin from being pressed excessively to a side of the finishing foil when moving the shaving head across a user' skin with the first outer cutter leading in a moving direction, thereby reducing skin irritation.

摘要： The invention relates to a shaving head (5) which comprises a cutting member (17) having a cutting edge (19) for cutting hairs (53) growing from human skin (51). The shaving head (5) also comprises a hair manipulator (21) which is arranged in front of the cutting edge, viewed in a shaving direction (Y) of the shaving head. The hair manipulator can be driven in a direction parallel to the cutting edge to move the hairs in a direction substantially parallel to the cutting edge, and protects the skin against incised wounds and irritations. According to the invention, the hair manipulator is arranged in a fixed position with respect to the cutting member, the hair manipulator and the cutting member being jointly drivable in a direction parallel to the cutting edge. In this manner, an accurately defined position of the hair manipulator relative to the cutting member, which is necessary for a safe operation of the shaving head, can be obtained in a simple and reliable manner without the use of an accurate construction of the shaving head. The shaving head is used in a shaver (1) according to the invention, which further comprises driving means (43) for driving the shaving head.
