摘要： A modular system used to visually inspect the interior of storage tanks and to simultaneously collect samples to analyze the products stored. The modular internal inspection system includes an assembly made up by a pneumatic controller (2), a pneumatic module (3), an interface module (4), a control module (5), an operation module (6), and several connection cables (7a, 7b, 7c). The system may be remotely operated and allows recording the images and the data collected during inspection. The modular internal tank inspection system is used in storage tanks (1) of any geometric configuration, normally found in industrial installations. Furthermore, because it is an intrinsically secure system, it may be used on tanks that store different types of liquid fuels, with no risk of explosion.

Since said bins (2) have a degree of dirt that is generally different from bin to bin, it is suitable and an advantage to also carry out a differentiated and graduated washing according to the different degree of dirt. Thus, according to the invention the bin cleaning plant includes a bin destacking (3) and overturning station (4), a plurality of bin washing stations (5A, 5B, 5C), the whole being connected to a suitable conveyor (8) that transfers the bins (2) in an orderly, continuous and sequential manner through said stations; said plant also includes measuring and control means (12) that sense and measure the level of dirt present in each of said bins (2) and that modify the washing process selectively for each of said bins according to the level of dirtiness detected.

摘要： A system and method are provided for minimizing the effects of background signals in masking signals indicating the presence of substances to be detected such as contaminants in materials moving rapidly along a conveyor. The contaminants detected may include nitrogen containing compounds and hydrocarbons. The system and method of the present invention minimize during detection of the presence or absence of such substances, the number of falsely positive indications of the presence of such substances due to background signals and changes in background signals. The substances detected are divided into first and second sample portions and the respective portions are heated. The first heated portion is mixed with ozone to cause a chemical action therewith in order to generate radiation by chemiluminescence having characteristic weavelengths related to substances in the first portion. The second portion heated is also mixed with ozone to cause a chemical reaction therewith in order to generate radiation by chemiluminescence having characteristic wavelengths related to substances in the second portion. The radiation of the respective first and second portions is selectively detected. The heating and detecting steps are performed in a manner so as to yield a higher level of detected radiation from one of the portions of the sample than the other for at least some of the selected compounds being detected. Electrical signals from the respective first and second portions are generated and compared in order to determine the presence or absence of selected compounds in the sample. Appropriate reject signals for a bottle sorting system are generated accordingly.

摘要： Disclosed is a method and apparatus for sampling and determining the presence of certain substances, such as residues of contaminants in containers. The method includes steps of: injecting compressed air into said containers in order to displace at least a portion of the contents thereof; evacuating a sample of the container contents so displaced by applying suction thereto; and analyzing the sample evacuated to determine the presence or absence of the certain residues therein. The compressed air is injected through a nozzle into an opening in the containers to displace a portion of the container contents and form a sample cloud outside of the container. The sample cloud is then at least partially evacuated by suction and the sample is analyzed for the presence of contaminants such as nitrogen containing compounds or hydrocarbons. In one embodiment about 90 % of the sample evacuated is diverted from the analyzer and recirculated into the air injector. In another embodiment a fan is provided to blow remnants of the sample cloud downstream of the test station. A hood may be provided in a shroud assembly at the test station to provide proper aerodynamics for the region for removal of those remnants.
