    • The invention relates to a method for separating dry matter from a medium, comprising the steps of providing a separation chamber defined by a plurality of rollers, wherein said chamber is capable of being pressure regulated, and wherein at least one of said rollers is a pore roller having a surface with pores allowing permeability for the medium, and furthermore having at least one channel in fluid contact with the pores of the surface, arranging at least one filter belt so that it passes between at least one set of rollers consisting of a pore roller and one other roller, establishing a pressure difference across the at least one filter belt, contacting at least one filter belt with a suspension of dry matter and medium accumulating dry matter on the at least one filter belt, obtaining a filter cake on said filter belt, and passing the at least one filter belt and filter cake through the at least one set of rollers, whereby medium is separated from the filter cake. Furthermore, the invention relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method and use of said apparatus.

    • The invention relates to a device for filtering liquids, comprising two shafts (11) which are parallel to each other or at an acute angle to each other. Each shaft (1) carries a stack of discs (2) which extend perpendicularly to the shaft axis and which are connected to the shaft (2) in a rotationally fixed manner. The discs (2) of one disc stack are engaged in the intermediate spaces between the discs of an adjacent discs stack. At least one of the shafts (1) is drivable and at least one of the shafts is hollow and is provided with bores (1-2). Some of the discs have channels (2-4) inside them which are conductively connected to the inside of their hollow shaft (1). A ring-shaped distancing element (3) is located between each pair of adjacent discs (2) of a shaft. According to the invention, a device of this type is characterized as follows: the distancing element (3) is sealed in relation to the adjacent discs (2); said distancing element (3) is connected to the shaft (1) in a rotationally fixed manner; and the support ring (3-1) is oversized in relation to the shaft (1) so that a channel (4) is formed between the inner surface of the support ring (3-1) and the outer surface of the shaft (1), this channel extending at least over part of the length of the shaft (1).

    • The invention relates to a grading or filtration device for multi-phase mixtures, in particular liquids containing fibrous materials, comprising a housing with at least one supply line, at least one drain line for the treated liquid, at least one drain line for the retentate and the impurities and at least one filtration or grading surface, which is traversed by the liquid and whose rear face is connected to the drain line for the treated liquid. The invention is provided with devices for generating a defined flow characteristic on the filtration or grading surface, onto which the liquid flows. Said device is characterised in that the filtration or grading surface consists of at least one substantially rigid cover surface (10) of at least one essentially circular filtration plate (3) comprising a hollow internal chamber, which can be rotated about a substantially central axis (2, 2'), said internal chamber being connected to the drain line for the treated liquid. At least one additional element lies directly adjacent to the filtration or grading surface and the device also has guide and drive devices, which allow said element and the filtration plate (3) to execute a displacement in relation to one another, parallel to the plane of the filtration plate (3).
