The forward step surface and the rearward step surface are hingedly joined to each other between the front edge of the step surface and rear edge of the upper step surface.

    • The present invention relates to a multi-functional running machine and a method for controlling the machine and more particularly to a multi-functional running machine adopted to perform various exercises such as running, walking, wrenching, stretching, stopping and so on in accordance with the condition of user's health or an exercise taste of user by allowing a running belt to reciprocately move by a prescribed distance and permitting user to input directly reciprocating times, reciprocating distance and reciprocating speed of the running belt or use selectively them programmed with various combination and the present invention also relates to a method for controlling the running belt to be reciprocately moved at a predetermined distance. According to the present invention, there are provided with a multi-functional running machine 100 comprising a lower frame 1 installed with a running belt 5 being rotated by motor 13; a support frame installed into the one side of the lower frame 1; a handle 3 attached to the support frame 2; and a scale plate 4 being characterized in that the running belt 5 is reciprocately moved in a predetermined scope and a method for controlling to be allowed a running belt 5 in a running machine 100 to be reciprocately moved wherein forwarding and reversing rotations of the running belt 5 are controlled by a motor driver 24 to thereby allow the running belt 5 to be reciprocately moved at a predetermined reciprocating length, reciprocating times and reciprocating speed.
