    • The invention relates to a membrane module for the hemodiafiltration. The inventive module comprises a cylinder-shaped housing (1) and a bundle of hollow fibre membranes (2) that can be flown through. The bundle is oriented in the direction of the longitudinal extension of the housing (1). The ends of the hollow fibre membranes are fluid-tightly embedded in a first and a second casting compound (3, 4) that is fluid-tightly connected to the inner wall of the housing. The outer chamber which is configured around the hollow fibre membranes (2) and is defined by the first and the second casting compound (3, 4) as well as the inner wall of the housing is divided into a dialysate chamber (11) and a substituate chamber (10) along the longitudinal extension of the housing (1) and by means of a partition wall (9) that encompasses each hollow fibre membrane (2), extends essentially crosswise in relation to the hollow fibre membranes (2) and essentially consists of a dimensionally stable material. The dialysate chamber (11) and the substituate chamber (10) are provided with at least one opening respectively for leading a fluid in or out (13, 14). At least one throttle is arranged in the outer chamber. The dialysate chamber (11) and the substituate chamber (10) are fluidically connected to each other via said throttle.

    • To provide a blood processing system easy to operate and excellent in safety factor, the blood processing system includes a plasma separating unit for separating a plasma from a blood; a plasma purifying unit for purifying the separated plasma to which the plasma is introduced into the plasma purifying unit through a plasma introducing fluid circuit by means of a plasma feed pump; and a plasma return fluid circuit for returning the plasma, which has been purified by the plasma purifying unit, back to the plasma separating unit. A plasma inlet pressure gauge measures a pressure of the plasma at the plasma intake port of the plasma feed pump. A bypass fluid circuit extending between the plasma introducing fluid circuit and the plasma return fluid circuit for bypassing the plasma feed pump and the plasma purifying unit has a valve disposed therein for opening the bypass circuit. A control unit controls the plasma feed pump in reference to the plasma inlet pressure measured by the plasma inlet pressure gauge to render the plasma inlet pressure to fall within a predetermined range with respect to a preset pressure.
