摘要： An exoskeleton is disclosed. The exoskeleton can include support members rotatably coupled together about a joint. The joint can define a degree of freedom, which can correspond to a degree of freedom of a human extremity, such as hip medial/lateral rotation, ankle medial/lateral rotation, shoulder medial/lateral rotation, or wrist pronation/supination rotation. One or more parasagittal planes through the human extremity can intersect the joint to minimize a gravity-induced moment on the first joint during operation of the exoskeleton.

摘要： An orthosis for stretching tissue around a joint of a patient between first and second relatively pivotable body portions. The orthosis includes a first arm member affixable to the first body portion and including a first extension member extending therefrom. A second arm member affixable to the second body portion is also included and has a second extension member having an arcuate shape extending therefrom. A third arm member including a third extension member having an arcuate shape extending therefrom is interposed between the first and second arm members. The third arm member is operativcly connected to the first and second arm members, such that the first and third arm members travel along an arcuate path defined by the second extension member when the third arm member is moved from a first position to a second position relative to the second arm member. Furthermore, the first arm member can slide along the third extension member as the third ami member is moved from the first position to the second position relative to the second arm member.

摘要： A control system is adapted for use in association with a therapeutic motion and splinting device. The therapeutic device has at least one component that is monitored. The system comprises the steps of defining the range of motion, defining the maximum reverse on load, monitoring the reverse on load and moving the device through its range of motion. A first and second maximum limit of range of motion in a first and second direction are respectively defined. A maximum reverse on load is defined and is monitored whereby the deformation of the at least one component is monitored and the load created is interpreted. The device is cycled between a first and second position defined by one of the first maximum limit and the maximum reverse on load and one of the second maximum limit and the maximum reverse on load respectively.

摘要： Provided is a wearable joint driving device in which a plurality of frame members are attached to a wearing body so as to be in contact with the outer surface of the wearing body. Between the frame members, there is mounted a fluid pressure type actuator. The fluid pressure type actuator has an expansion/contraction member and a net-like covering member covering the outer periphery of the expansion/contraction member. The fluid pressure type actuator undergoes a reduction in length through expansion of the expansion/contraction member to thereby generate a driving force. The frame members have a predetermined level of rigidity.
