摘要： [Problem] To prevent backflow, improve absorption speed, and reduce the diffusion of urine in a surface sheet in an absorbent article that uses cotton fibers in the surface sheet. [Solution] A medium or higher volume incontinence pad (1) that absorbs at least 20 cc of urine. A surface sheet (3), which is formed by coating a spun-lace non-woven cloth that is 100 weight% cotton fibers with a water repellent, has a plurality of openings (10) that pass from top to bottom formed in at least a region thereof that includes an excretion-orifice-facing section. An absorption body comprises a highly water-absorbent polymer and pulp fibers that do not include synthetic fibers. The basis weight of the highly water-absorbent polymer is 85-185 g/m2, the basis weight of the pulp fibers is 75-300 g/m2, and the ratio of the pulp fibers to the highly water-absorbent polymer is 70-30 weight%:30-70 weight%.

This absorbent body is configured as follows. The absorbent body (7) for an absorbent article (1) comprises: an absorbent core (11) comprising a polymer absorbing agent (19); and core wraps (13, 14). The core wraps (13, 14) comprise: (i) a first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer (25, 26) that is adjacent to the absorbent core (11) and contains first hydrophilic fibers (23, 24) having an average fiber length of 25 mm to 75 mm; (ii) a pulp fiber-containing layer (29, 30) that is adjacent to the first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer (25, 26) and contains pulp fibers (27, 28); and (iii) a second hydrophilic fiber-containing layer (33, 34) that is adjacent to the pulp fiber-containing layer (29, 30) and contains second hydrophilic fibers (31, 32) having an average fiber length of 25 mm to 75 mm. Some of the pulp fibers (27, 28) pass through the first hydrophilic fiber-containing layer (25, 26) and are in contact with the absorbent core (11).
