摘要： The present invention relates to a multi-layer absorbent material. More particularly, the invention relates to a layered, composite absorbent material with individual layers which are constructed and arranged to selectively cooperate to provide desired performance parameters in the composite, layered structure, to methods for manufacturing said multi-layer absorbent material, as well as to the use of a multi-layer absorbent material according to the invention in an absorbent article, particularly a diaper. Such a multi-layer material provides improved ability to absorb and retain fluids and consequently, prevents excessive rewetting and leakage. The present invention is of particular importance to the field of hygiene products, in particular diapers.

摘要： An absorbent core composite is disclosed for incorporation into a disposable absorbent article. The composite includes a first material layer and a second material layer (preferably nonwoven) partially secured to the first material layer to define at least one pocket therebetween. Preferably, multiple pockets are defined, except in the case of where a generally uniform layer or bed of absorbent is preferred or better suited fro the application. The pocket is said have a fixed initial volume. Further, an aggregate of absorbent particles is provided in the pocket(s) to occupy a portion of the fixed initial volume. The absorbent particles are preferably SAP particles and is characterized by a dry volume associated with a dry state and a swell volume associated with a liquid saturation state. In respect to or for the pocket, the aggregate is characterized by a collective dry volume and a collective swell volume, wherein the pocket has an initial configuration that retains the aggregate therein.

Since the body fluid flowing into the body fluid inflow portion (17) is diffused and is absorbed and held in the superabsorbent resin (18) on the side edge portion of the absorber, it is possible to maintain the absorbed amount in the absorber (4). Even when the superabsorbent resin (18) absorbs water to become swollen, the body fluid inflow portion (17) is prevented from being blocked, with the result that it is possible to prevent the absorption speed from being reduced.
