    • Various intraocular pseudophakic contact lenses are disclosed. For example, an intraocular pseudophakic contact lens can include a first optical lens and multiple anchors. The first optical lens is configured to at least partially correct a residual refractive error in an eye. The anchors are configured to be inserted through an anterior surface of an intraocular lens into lens material forming a second optical lens of the intraocular lens in order to secure the intraocular pseudophakic contact lens to the intraocular lens. The anchors can be configured to couple the intraocular pseudophakic contact lens to different types of intraocular lenses, including intraocular lenses not specifically designed to be coupled to or receive the intraocular pseudophakic contact lens. The intraocular pseudophakic contact lens could also include at least one drug-eluting device located on the first optical lens and configured to deliver at least one medication.

    • An intraocular lens for providing enhanced vision includes an optic having a clear aperture having an outer diameter. The optic further includes central and outer zones that fill the entire clear aperture of the optic. The central zone is disposed about the optical axis having an outer diameter, the profile in the vicinity of the central zone having a constant radius of curvature or a radius of curvature that increases with increasing radius from the optical axis. The outer zone is disposed about the central zone, the profile in the outer zone having a base curvature with a base radius of curvature and a center of curvature, the profile in the outer zone characterized in that, as the distance from the optical axis increases, the distance from the center of curvature of the base curvature also increases.

    • An accommodating (re-focusable) lens system a body of which includes, upon being assembled, first and second individual lenslets having first and second optical portions sequentially disposed along an optical axis. Change in optical-power accommodation of the system is achieved by changing an applanated area of contact between the lenslets in response to force applied to the lenslets and transformed into an axial force. In specific case, the first and second lenslets form an intraocular lens (IOL) and have respective haptic portions, interlocked as a result of rotating of one lenslet with respect to another such as to bring first and second lenslets in contact at an axial point. The applanated area of contact is changed, then, in response to a radially-directed force caused by a change of distance between the interlocked ends of the haptics and transferred to the optical portions through the interlocked haptics. When installed in a natural lens capsule after the cataract extraction, the optical power of such IOL is gradually modifiable due to a change of curvature of the capsule caused by operation of a ciliary muscle.
