摘要： A trial guide for temporary placement on the distal end of the femur during a knee revision includes instrumented components that allow a surgeon to determine distal and posterior extension gaps for balancing the revised implant, and an adjustable stem component that allows the surgeon to translate a trial stem and rotate a selected offset coupling for the trial stem to ensure proper trial placement before the revision procedure. Fiducial markers can be affixed to the body or components of the trial guide to allow a surgical system to map the trial guide onto a reference frame for the surgery, such as the femur reference frame, thereby allowing the surgical system to update the surgical plan and assist the surgeon in implementing the plan for a revision the arthroplasty.

摘要： A tibial component (14) for a knee prosthesis, which component is for replacing at least a portion of a proximal end of a tibia (220). The tibial component is useful in systems and methods for providing deeper knee flexion capabilities, more physiologic load bearing and improved patellar tracking for knee prosthesis patients. Such systems and methods include (i) adding more articular surface to the antero- proximal posterior condyles of a femoral component (12), including methods to achieve that result, (ii) modifications to the internal geometry of the femoral component and the associated femoral bone cuts with methods of implantation, (iii) asymmetrical tibial components that have an unique articular surface that allows for deeper knee flexion than has previously been available, (iv) asymmetrical femoral condyles that result in more physiologic loading of the joint and improved patellar tracking and (v); modifying an articulation surface of the tibial component to include an articulation feature whereby the articulation pathway of the femoral component is directed or guided by articulation feature.

摘要： A method tracks a tool with respect to a bone in computer-assisted surgery. A reference tracker with a MEMS unit is secured to the bone. The tracker outputs data relating to its orientation. A tool provided with a MEMS unit and secured to the bone is preset with an initial orientation. The tool outputs tracking data related to orientation of the tool once initialized. A trackable frame of reference relating the bone to the orientation of the tracker is created. The MEMS unit of the tool is initialized. A relation between the initial orientation of the tool and the orientation of the tracker at initialization of the MEMS unit of the tool is recorded. Orientational data of the tool relative to the frame of reference of the bone calculated using the relation is displayed. A computer-assisted surgery system for tracking a tool with respect to a bone after an initialization of a MEMS unit is also described.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for performing knee arthroplasty, including, but not limited to, bicruciate retaining knee arthroplasty, are described herein. Methods and apparatus for preparing a distal femur for a femoral implant as well as methods and apparatus (270) for preparing a proximal tibia for a tibial implant are described. These methods and apparatus, in at least some embodiments and uses, facilitate decreasing the complexity of knee arthroplasty procedures such as bicruciate retaining procedures, while maintaining, if not improving on, the safety, accuracy and/ or effectiveness of such procedures.

Compared to the prior art, the present invention can improve the efficiency and accuracy of the surgery.
