摘要： A method for preparing a flavor-containing sheet for a smoking article, characterized by comprising a step of extending a raw material slurry on a substrate, wherein the slurry contains polysaccharide consisting of gellan gum and tamarind gum, a flavor, an emulsifier and 70 to 95 wt% of water, has a weight ratio of gellan gum to tamarind gum of 1:1 to 3:1, and has a temperature of 60 to 90°C in a sol state, a step of cooling the extended raw material slurry to a sample temperature of 0 to 40°C to form a gel, and a heat-drying step comprising heating the gelled raw material and drying it at a sample temperature of 70 to 100°C.

摘要： A method of preparing a tobacco material for use in a smoking article is provided, including (i) mixing a tobacco material, water, and an additive selected from the group consisting of lysine, glycine, histidine, alanine, methionine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, proline, phenylalanine, valine, arginine, di- and trivalent cations, asparaginase, saccharides, phenolic compounds, reducing agents, compounds having a free thiol group, oxidizing agents, oxidation catalysts, plant extracts, and combinations thereof; (ii) heating the mixture; and (iii) incorporating the heat-treated mixture into a smoking article as a smokable material. A smoking article in the form of a cigarette is also provided that includes a tobacco material pre-treated to inhibit reaction of asparagine to form acrylamide in mainstream smoke. Upon smoking, the smoking article is characterized by an acrylamide content of mainstream smoke that is reduced relative to an untreated control smoking article.

摘要： Object of this invention is a new machinery for casing and moistening not only leaves, strips or stems of tobacco but also cut tobacco, scraps, shorts, smalls and fines. The new machinery is characterised by the vertical passage of the tobacco through it; the machinery is essentially composed of a drum having its axis in a vertical or almost vertical position. During the casing process the tobacco is struck by jets composed of steam, casing fluids, air or other gas mixed all together or not. The jets, coming from the circumferences and the lateral surface of the drum, have been oriented differently so they produce a turbulence in the drum that cases the tobacco in a very homogeneous way and at the same time cleans the inside walls and prevents the production of tobacco balls or blocks; moreover there is a secondary advantage, in that the treated tobacco is thereby expanded and so there is an increase of the filling power of the tobacco. This invention reduces the production costs and improves its quality.
