The valve device (3) has at least one rotor passage section (49), at least one closing section (51) and at least one gas passage section (53). Alternately, the valve device (3) temporarily at the same time disconnects a compression chamber (27) from a first combustion chamber (171) and an ignition chamber (29) from a second combustion chamber (172), wherein there is a fluidic connection during this time between the ignition chamber (29) and the compression chamber (27).
