    • Disclosed is a proportional pressure control valve which is embodied as a direct control valve with a pressure reducing function and a pressure back-up function. The valve basically consists of a valve housing (2) with inlets and outlets (4, 5, 6), a control element (7) with a pressure feedback, an anchor bar (15) and a proportional magnet (3) which consists of a magnet core (17), a magnet anchor (16) and a magnet coil (18). The proportional magnet (3) has an almost constant magnetic power in the working area of the proportional magnet. According to the invention, the smallest axial distance (21) between the magnet anchor (16) and the magnet core (17) in one holding position of the magnet anchor (16) is measured in such a way that the magnetic power between said two components (16, 17) is greater in the holding position than the magnetic power in the working area of the proportional magnet (3) and that the magnet anchor (16) can be fixed in the holding position by means of said magnetic power.
