    • The invention relates to a method for transferring a material web, in particular a fibrous web (F) in the form of a paper, cardboard, or tissue web, from a drying arrangement (1) in a machine (26) for producing such a material web to a functional unit (4) located downstream of the drying arrangement (1) when starting up the machine or following a disruption by transferring a guiding strip (AS). In the drying arrangement (1), the material web is supported on a continuously revolving drying belt (3) and is alternately guided over a plurality of heatable drying cylinders (TZn, TZn-1, TZn-2, TZn-3) and intermediate deflection rolls (5), the web being in direct contact with the surface of the drying cylinders. In one stage of said method, at least one partial strip of the material web from the drying arrangement (1) or the entire width of the material web is guided into a catching device arranged below the drying arrangement (1). The invention is characterized in that downstream of the last drying cylinder (TZn) of the drying arrangement (1) in the direction of travel of the material web through the drying arrangement (1), the material web or the partial strip of the material web is supported on the drying belt (3) and is guided into a catching device that is offset in the vertical direction.
