    • A plurality of contacts (211) is caused to make contact with a plurality of contact pads arranged on a mating face of a mating connector in a two-dimensional fashion simultaneously with high contacting quality according to operation. A connector (20) has a base housing (22) and a shell (27) constituting a housing, a plurality of said contacts (211), a slider (23), and a lift plate (24). The connector (20) is mated with the mating connector having a plurality of contact pads arranged in a two-dimensional fashion. The plurality of contacts (211) are arranged in a two-dimensional fashion, and they make contact with a plurality of contact pads of the mating connector, respectively. The slider (23) has a cam face on an upper face (231) thereof, and it is slid in a lateral direction according to a driving operation of a lever (37). The lift plate (24) receives an action of the cam face caused by sliding of the slider (23) to move toward the mating connector. The lift plate (24) pushes the plurality of contacts (211) on to the plurality of contact pads of the mating connector.

    • In a connector provided with a circuit board having a plurality of contact pads arranged on a first face, the positional accuracy of the first face having the contact pads formed thereon of the circuit board is improved. This connector (10) has a frame (11) and a retainer (14), which constitute a housing, a circuit board (13), and a cap (12). A plurality of contact pads are arranged in a two-dimensional fashion on a lower face (first face) of the circuit board (13). This circuit board (13) has its lower face (first face) supported on seat portions (113) of the frame (11) so that the lower face (first face) is located. In addition, this circuit board (13) has its upper face (second face) pressed by the retainer (14) so that the circuit board (13) is fixed in a state of being pressed on the stand portions (113) of the frame (11).
