摘要： The invention pertains to a crosslinked aramid polymer comprising a first aramid backbone which is crosslinked through a poly(meth)acrylic acid with a second aramid backbone. The crosslinked aramid polymer is obtained by polymerizing a monomeric aromatic diamine with a monomeric aromatic diacid, or halide or ester thereof in the presence of poly(meth)acrylic acid, followed by a curing step. The crosslinked aramid polymer is crosslinked through its amide bonds and can be made to a fiber, film or fibrid.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a process for manufacturing a polyolefin powder comprising a thermoplastic elastomer, which process comprises the steps of combining a polyolefin powder or a monomeric source therefor with a thermoplastic elastomer, the thermoplastic elastomer being in the form of a solution or dispersion in a solvent, where a monomeric source of a polyolefin is used, contacting the source of a polyolefin with a polymerisation catalyst under polymerisation conditions to form a polyolefin removing the solvent to form a powder and wherein the polyolefin and the thermoplastic elastomer are not the same polymer. The invention also pertains to a particulate polyolefin composition which has a particle size distribution such that at least 80 vol.% of the particles has a diameter in the range of 1-3000 microns, and which comprises a nascent polyolefin and 0.1-30 wt.% of a thermoplastic elastomer, calculated on the total of polyolefin and thermoplastic elastomer. The polyolefin composition and method according to the invention allows the manufacture of films and fibers of polyolefin comprising a thermoplastic elastomer, which combine good adhesive properties with high strength properties.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a polyethylene film which has a ratio between the strength in a first direction in the film plane and the strength in a second direction in the film plane perpendicular to the first direction in the range of 0.1-10:1, the strength in at least one direction in the film plane being at least 0.2 GPa, wherein the polyethylene has a weight average molecular weight of at least 500 000 gram/mole and a Mw/Mn ratio of at most 6. The invention also pertains to a process for manufacturing such film, wherein a starting UHMWPE polymer with a weight average molecular weight of at least 500 000 gram/mole, an elastic shear modulus determined directly after melting at 160°C of at most 1.4 MPa, and a Mw/Mn ratio of at most 6 to a solvent-free compacting process and a stretching process under such conditions that at no point during the process the temperature of the intermediate polymer film is raised to a value above its melting point, wherein in the stretching process a force is applied onto the intermediate polymer film in a first direction and in a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for obtaining high-tenacity aramid yarn, wherein the yarn is made of a copolymer obtained from a mixture of monomers comprising DAPBI, an aromatic para-diamine, and an aromatic para-diacid, wherein the yarn is heated in at least two process steps, characterized in that in a first step the yarn is heated at a temperature of 200 to 360 °C at a tension of at least 0.2 cN/dtex, followed by a second step wherein the yarn is heated at a temperature of 370 to 500 °C at a tension of less than 1 cN/dtex. The invention further pertains to a multifilament aramid yarn spun from a sulfuric acid spin dope and having a tenacity of at least 2500 mN/tex.
