摘要： A method and system (100) for measuring a surface tension of a liquid is provided. The method is carried out using an electrospraying apparatus (103) connected in the system (100). At a first step a voltage source (113) applies a voltage between a capillary (107) through which the liquid is drawn and an electrode (111) of the electrospraying apparatus (103). An ammeter (115) continuously measures current flowing in the system (100) and if no current or a current less than a predetermined threshold current is measured in the system (100), the strength of the electric field at the capillary (107) is increased. As soon as current is measured in the system (100), a reading of a parameter of the system (100) is taken, which is used to calculate the surface tension of the liquid.
