摘要： There are provided a system and a method of controlling travel of an electric bicycle using a scheme of sensing a rotational speed of a drive shaft to which a pedal is connected and operating a driving motor so as to follow the rotational speed. The system of controlling travel of an electric bicycle includes: a pedal rotational speed detecting unit detecting a pedal speed, which is a rotational speed of a drive shaft to which a pedal of the electric bicycle is connected; and a controlling unit calculating an assist speed by adding an additional speed to the detected pedal speed and commanding a driving unit to drive a motor connected to the drive shaft depending on the calculated assist speed, wherein the controlling unit compares the pedal speed and the assist speed with each other after the motor has started to be driven and adjusts the assist speed so that the pedal speed and the assist speed are matched with each other.
