摘要： An efficient use of communication resources is provided by determining a behavior for selecting the payload size (data rate) of a reverse link transmission from a mobile station to a base station. The mobile station may store a predetermined table including the ratio of the power levels of the traffic channel and pilot channel (TPR), where each entry corresponds to a size of data payload, and consequently a data rate for transmission in a predetermined time frame. The payload size is selected based on an authorized-TPR. The authorized-TPR and a target-TPR are adjusted in accordance with TPR commands received from the base station. A fast-ramp-up adjustment of the authorized-TPR is carried out when the authorized-TPR is less than the target-TPR. The down TPR commands are ignored in the adjustments of the authorized-TPR upon fast-ramp-up mode.

摘要： A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which at least one bit rate for allocating network resources from a broadcast-multicast service center (BM-SC) is received. The network resources are then allocated based on the at least one bit rate. Moreover, all evolved Node Bs (eNBs) in a broadcast/multicast area are informed of the network resource allocation. Additionally, the network resources are allocated for a session based on a first bit rate, wherein the first bit rate is greater than a guaranteed bit rate (GBR), and the network resource allocation is adjusted to a second bit rate based on the occurrence of an event, wherein the second bit rate is equal to GBR.

In accordance with one aspect, variation in the available transmit power over time is estimated. A first margin is then computed and used to account for the estimated variation in the available transmit power. The available transmit power at a future time instance (e.g., the beginning of the next frame) is predicted and reduced by the first margin to derive a more accurate estimate of the available transmit power for the next frame. In accordance with another aspect, variation in the required transmit power for a particular data user is estimated and used in scheduling data transmission to this data user. A second margin can be computed and used to account for the estimated variation in the required transmit power for the data user. Whereas the first margin accounts for variation in the (overall) available transmit power, the second margin is specific to the particular link conditions experienced by the data user.

摘要： A method and apparatus for selecting a favored transmission slot for communicating non-voice data in conjunction with a voice-data communication. The slot, reflecting a favored power level and transmission rate for transmitting the non-voice data on a supplemental channel, is selected based upon the transmission power levels for voice-data transmitted by a base station to a remote station on a fundamental channel. The favored transmission slot is selected without the remote station messaging information to the base station concerning frequency channel or interference information for the supplemental channel. A method of performing forward-link scheduling in a wireless communication system includes determining the available base station power at the beginning of a frame, predicting the required transmit power at the beginning of the frame for each supplemental channel, determining rates sustainable with the predicted transmit power, dividing by throughput over a recent window to obtain a supplemental channel priority index, and allowing the supplemental channel with the highest priority index to transmit over the next frame.
