摘要： Thin-panel picture display device having a luminescent screen and a large emitting plane electron source, such as a large number of juxtaposed electron propagation ducts operating by means of wall interaction of electrons. By means of an addressing system, electrons extracted from ducts are directed towards desired locations on the luminescent screen. The addressing system comprises a preselection system and a fine-selection system with an intermediate spacer plate of insulating material provided with apertures for passing electrons arranged in between. To provide the possibility of applying large voltage differences across the thickness of the spacer plate, the walls of the apertures are at least partly coated with a coating of a low δ material having a low secondary emission coefficient (δmax ≤ 3.5), particularly Si3N4, AlN, Cr2O3 or Y2O3.

摘要： A switchable autostereoscopic display device comprises a display panel having an array of display pixels for producing a display, the display pixels being arranged in rows and columns, and a lens arrangement with an array of slanted elongate lenses for directing the output from different pixels to different spatial positions to enable a stereoscopic image to be viewed, the lens arrangement being in a plane parallel to the display panel. The lens arrangement comprises an electrically switchable LC layer which defines a lens pattern or a lens replica pattern, wherein the LC alignment of the LC layer is electrically switchable such that the lens arrangement is switchable between a 2D mode and a 3D mode. In the 2D mode, the LC alignment is in a first direction substantially within the plane of the lens arrangement, and in the 3D mode the LC alignment is in a second, perpendicular direction also substantially within the plane of the lens arrangement. The light output of the display panel is polarized in the second direction. This arrangement enables a perpendicular relationship between the output of the display panel and the LC alignment direction to be maintained for two perpendicular viewing planes.

摘要： The thin-type display device (1) with a vacuum envelope comprises a transparent front wall (3), which is provided with a display screen, and at least an electron source (5) and a duct structure, which cooperates with said electron source (5) and which extends substantially parallel to the front wall (3). 摘要： A picture display device has a vacuum envelope and is provided with a face plate whose inner side supports a luminescent screen, a rear wall situated at a short distance therefrom, and the space inbetween accommodating a plurality of electron sources which cooperate with a plurality of electron transport ducts with walls which comprise a dielectric material for transporting, through vacuum, produced electrons towards positions at a small distance from the luminescent screen. Means for reducing the effects of undesired charge transfer of the duct walls are provided to improve the start-up and/or steady state electron transport conditions. In a practical embodiment the outer sides of the duct rear walls are provided with a (start-up) conductor means to which an initiation potential is applied, which is equal to or higher than the potential applied for producing the electron transport field.
