The object of the invention is to improve said towing device in such a manner that there is as little play as possible between the receiving part (10) and the anchoring part. The object is attained in that in the locking position the locking member (56, 112) is acted upon by a resilient force in the direction (58) of locking, in that the counter bearing (72, 116) has a face extending obliquely to the direction (58) of locking, surface on which one side of said locking member (56, 112) acted upon by the resilient force rests when it is in the loking position, so that the locking members (56, 72, 112, 116) produce force components (78, 82) pointing transversely to the direction (58) of locking and keeping the interlocking elements (36, 40, 42, 44, 121, 122, 125, 124) in playfree contact.
