摘要： A chain guide includes a curved guide base (20) extending along the direction in which a torque transmitting chain (5) moves. The guide base (20) includes, on its surface opposed to the chain (5), a rolling guide portion (30) including a plurality of roller element bearings (31) which are rotatable and configured to guide the chain (5) while kept in rolling contact with the chain (5), and a sliding guide portion (40) in the form of a curved surface. The rolling guide portion (30) reduces a loss in torque transmission, while the sliding guide portion (40) reduces flapping of the chain (5), thus reducing noise and vibrations of the chain (5).

摘要： A chain guide includes a guide base (20) pivotable about a fulcrum shaft (10). The fulcrum shaft (10) is arranged between a roller bearing (40) located at the end portion of the guide base (20), which is closer to the fulcrum shaft (10), and the center of the guide base (20) in the longitudinal direction of the guide base such that the roller (40) is arranged outside of the fulcrum shaft (10). In this arrangement, since the rotation moment applied to the above roller bearing (40) due to the pressing force from a chain (5) acts to alleviate the rotation moment applied to the remaining roller bearings (40), the guise base (20) is less likely to bend.

摘要： A chain transmission device for driving camshafts is provided, the device including a crank sprocket (2) mounted to a crankshaft (1), cam sprockets (4) mounted to the respective camshafts (3), a chain (5) including a loose side chain portion (5a), and trained around the crank sprocket (2) and the cam sprockets (4), and a chain guide (A 1 ) mounted on the outer side of the loose side chain portion (5a) so as to be pivotable about one of the two end portions of the chain guide (A 1 ), and provided with a plurality of rotatable rollers (23). An adjustment force is applied to the other of the two end portions of the chain guide (A 1 ) by a chain tensioner (11) such that the chain guide (A 1 ) is biased toward the chain, so that the rollers (23) of the chain guide (A 1 ) can guide the chain (5) by rolling. The winding angle of the portion of the chain (5) located on the outer periphery of the roller (23) located closest to the crank sprocket (2) is set to be 170 degrees or over so as to reduce noise.
