摘要： A draper having an additional strip of a resilient material attached on to the outer surface of the base layer at the front edge is connected at ends to form a continuous loop by a coupling comprising a first and second end edge which are turned so as to stand upwardly from the band and a clamping assembly clamping the upwardly standing edges together. The additional band at each end of the canvas is recessed from the outer surface and a strip portion formed of a flexible continuous strip material extending longitudinally of the additional band connects the two ends. The strip is bolted at each end to the recessed portion and has a thickness so that its outer surface is slightly less than that of the additional band thus forming in effect a continuation of the band bridging the ends of the canvas.

摘要： A crop harvesting header for mounting on a propulsion vehicle such as a swather tractor or combine harvester includes a main frame structure (13) supporting a crop receiving table (16) with a cutter bar (17) across a front of the table and side drapers (18A) on the table for moving the cut crop toward a discharge location of the header. The frame is divided into a central frame portion (10A) and two separate wing frame portions (10B, 10C) each arranged for pivotal movement relative to the central portion about a pivot axis (27A) extending in a plane parallel to the forward direction and intersecting the cutter bar so that, as the wing frame portions pivot, the cutter bar flexes in the area adjacent the respective pivot axis over a small angle of the order of 4 degrees to maintain the cutter bar following the ground. The central frame portion is mounted on two spring arms (24) for upward and twisting floating movement such that the total downward force on the ground, from that part of the weight of all of the portions of the header which is unsupported, can be varied by moving the support to change the total pressure of the header on the ground. The wing frame portions are connected to the central frame portion by interconnecting linkages (30) which transfer weight from the wing frame portions to the springs of the central portion each including a respective balance beam (34) arranged to balance the lifting force from the spring with the downward forces from the center portion and wing frame portion such that the downward force on a skid plate (16A) of each portion on the ground varies automatically as the total downward force is varied. A bottom stop (41) is arranged with a balance system which holds the cutter bar straight when the header is raised.

摘要： A harvesting header is operable in a first mode of operation by engagement of a skid at the cutter bar for cutting along the ground. A gauging system operable in a second mode includes four ground engaging members supporting the header such that the cutter bar skid plate is at a controlled distance from the ground. The ground engaging members include a long skid and removable gauge wheels are carried on an elongate beam pivoted adjacent the cutter bar and extending to the rear of the frame and adjustable by an upstanding telescopic mast up to a position to allow the cutter bar to run on the ground. A resilient suspension can be provided at the rear of the beam at the junction to the post. The location under the table allows a very high adjustment of the cutter bar in the second mode.

摘要： A header assembly for a combine harvester includes a header carried by an adapter on the feeder house of the combine and on a pair of gauge wheel which can be adjusted from inside the cab to change height of the cutter bar from the ground. This is used in combination with an Automatic Header Height Control so that the main suspension is adjusted to carry approximately 90% of the header weight, the header is dropped on the ground until the gauge wheels contact the ground, and causes the header to "float" with respect to the main carrier frame and the AHHC is set so that the combine feeder house stops lowering when a pre-set amount of header to adapter separation (float) is achieved with the AHHC operating to maintain this set amount by controlling the height of the feeder house.
