摘要： An encoding rate detection method for detecting a predetermined encoding rate in a received encoded signal decodes the encoded signal by a 1st synchronization signal having a frequency corresponding to a 1st encoding rate to thereby generate a 1st decoded signal (ST11), and determines whether or not a synchronization is taken for the 1st decoded signal (ST12). In case where the synchronization is not taken, there is generated only a 2nd synchronization signal having a frequency corresponding to a 2nd encoding rate whose difference from the 1st encoding rate is smaller in comparison with an allowable value of the encoding rate decided by upper and lower limit values (ST13, 17).

摘要： A Viterbi decoding apparatus wherein degradation of error correction characteristics before and after the concluded code is suppressed. A conclusion timing determining part (103) determines the conclusion timing of Viterbi coding. A forced value producing part (105) produces a forced value such that a specific path is passed through at the conclusion timing and at the preceding and following timings during a trace back. The forced value is set to a trace back pointer (106). In this way, even if the code decoding status before the conclusion is deteriorated, the next code can be decoded without any affection by such deterioration, resulting in an improved error correction performance.

摘要： A path selection signal outputted from an ACS means (100) is stored in a path temporary memory unit (101) for a specified period of time. Using the path selection signal stored in the path temporary memory unit (101), a partial trace-back unit (102) carries out trace-back partially from a first time point to a second time point to detect non-pass-through node through which no survival path passes at the second time point. A converter unit (103) converts the path selection signal that corresponds to the non-pass-through node to a specified fixed value upon receiving the signal from the partial trace-back unit (102). This results in a reduced signal transition probability in the path memory (104) and reduced power consumption.
