摘要： A toner cartridge according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a front, rear, first side, second side, top and bottom forming a toner reservoir. An outlet port is positioned on the front of the housing proximate the first side for transferring toner out of the reservoir. A drive gear is positioned on the front of the housing and has a center proximate the second side for receiving rotational power. A cavity is formed in the bottom of the housing. A latch catch is positioned in the cavity on an inner side of the front of the housing for receiving a latch for securing the toner cartridge in an image forming device. The latch catch is positioned closer to the bottom of the housing than the outlet port and the drive gear and between the center of the drive gear and the outlet port in the side-to-side direction.

摘要： The present invention refers to a toner cartridge for use in an image forming device. Comprising a housing having a top, a bottom, a front, and a rear positioned between a first side and a second side of the housing. The housing defines a reservoir for containing toner therein and has an elongated shape extending from the first side to the second side. The cartridge further comprises an exit port in fluid communication with the reservoir and facing downward on the front of the housing near the first side and a toner delivery system for transferring toner from the reservoir out of the exit port. The toner delivery system includes a main interface gear for providing rotational power to the toner delivery system with a portion of the main interface gear being exposed on the front of the housing near the top of the second side and engagable with a corresponding drive gear in the image forming device. The cartridge further comprises a projection projecting from the front of the housing spaced from exit port toward the first side of the housing with the projection extending further forward than a frontmost portion of the exit port. A front of the projection is unobstructed for engaging a shutter on a developer unit when the toner cartridge is inserted into the image forming device. The projection includes a forward projecting portion that extends away from the front of the housing as well as a knob that extends towards the first side of the housing from the front of the forward projecting portion.

摘要： The present invention refers to a toner cartridge for use in an image forming device. The toner cartridge comprises a housing having a top, a bottom, a front, and a rear positioned between a first side and a second side of the housing. The housing defines a reservoir for containing toner therein. The cartridge further comprises an exit port in fluid communication with the reservoir and facing downward on the front of the housing near the first side as well as a first alignment guide positioned on the first side of the housing and a second alignment guide positioned on the second side of the housing at substantially the same height as the first alignment guide. The cartridge also comprises a toner delivery system for transferring toner from the reservoir out of the exit port. The toner delivery system includes a main interface gear for providing rotational power to the toner delivery system with a portion of the main interface gear being exposed on the front of the housing at the second side of the housing above the second alignment guide. Finally the cartridge comprises a connector on the first side of the housing having a forward facing opening positioned above the first alignment guide with electrical contacts being positioned within the connector and being accessible through the forward facing opening of the connector. The electrical contacts are electrically connected to processing circuitry of the toner cartridge.

摘要： A replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device includes a housing having a reservoir for holding toner. An outlet is in fluid communication with the reservoir for exiting toner from the replaceable unit. An interface gear is provided on the housing, at least a portion of which mates with a corresponding drive gear to receive rotational force from the drive gear. A magnet is movable in response to rotation of the interface gear. A magnetic sensor on the housing is aligned with a point in a path of movement of the magnet for sensing a magnetic field of the passing magnet. An electrical contact is provided on the housing for contacting a corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device. The electrical contact in the image forming device is electrically connected to the magnetic sensor to convey an output thereof to a controller of the image forming device when the electrical contact of the replaceable unit is in contact with the corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device. The electrical contact of the replaceable unit faces downward and is unobstructed from below permitting the corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device to contact the electrical contact of the replaceable unit from below.
