    • In an embodiment a method is to improve spectrum utilization in a communication system with a plurality of electronic communication connections. The method comprises each of a number of transmitters transmitting a signal to a number of receivers; conveying at least part of the power of each transmission to each of two or more receivers; and modifying the allocation of power of a transmission to the receivers such that the spectrum utilization is greater than if each receiver were to receive the same transmission power from each transmission from each transmitter. In an embodiment a distribution point is for use in a communication system. The distribution point comprises a first plurality of transmitters adapted for communication connection to a second plurality of receivers and a precoder configured to allocate transmission power of at least one of the transmitters to at least two of the receivers. The precoder is configured to allocate the transmission power for multipath signal transmission from the transmitter to the at least two receivers. In an embodiment a CPE device is for use in a communication system. The CPE device is adapted for communication connection with a first plurality of transmitters provided in a distribution point. The CPE device comprises a second plurality of receivers. The CPE device has a vector equalizer adapted to cancel crosstalk. A communication system comprises the distribution point and/or the CPE device and/or is adapted to perform the method to improve spectrum utilization.
