摘要： A system, a method and a computer-readable medium are provided for associating a nucleic acid profile or proteomic profile with a patient state, to utilize a healthcare protocol or guideline for decision support, in which the patient state provides a description of a current status and a history of a patient, and the nucleic acid profile or proteomic profile is an analysis of characteristics including genetic constitution, gene expression, or modification of the protein content of the tissue or cell, all of which aid in diagnosis of the disease state of a patient. The nucleic acid profile or proteomic profile shows a molecular indicator of the patient state. The invention also provides a method for associating a stage in the healthcare protocol or guideline with the nucleic acid profile or proteomic profile.

摘要： Method and system for determining a norm to apply to a patient being examined in which at least one physical characteristic of the patient is determined from the examination and guidelines relating thereto are obtained. Information about the patient other than from the examination and established norms for each characteristic are also obtained. An established norm to be applied to the patient is selected based on the determination of the characteristic(s), the guidelines relating to the determination thereof, and the information about the patient other than from the examination. The selection of the norm is performed by an inference engine. The norm is applied to the characteristic, e.g., a measured anatomical feature, to obtain a normal value therefor. The measured anatomical feature is compared to the normal value to determine whether it is indicative of a normal or abnormal condition.

A patient information database (EMJ), a data input section (DAT) with molecular diagnostic input data (MDx) about the patient, a clinical guideline database (CL), a knowledge database (KB) are part of the system. 摘要： A reconfiguration manager implemented on a computer or other data processing device controls the reconfiguration of software or other components of an electronic device such as a computer, personal digital assistant (PDA), set-top box, television, etc. The reconfiguration manager receives a reconfiguration request, e.g., a software upgrade request from the electronic device, and determines one or more device components that are required to implement the reconfiguration request. The reconfiguration manager also determines, e.g., from information in the request, identifiers of one or more additional components currently implemented in the electronic device. The reconfiguration manager then compares the needed and currently implemented components with previously-stored lists of known acceptable and unacceptable configurations for the electronic device. If the needed and currently implemented components correspond to a configuration on the list of acceptable configurations, the request is approved and the needed components are downloaded to the electronic device. If the needed and currently implemented components correspond to a configuration on the list of unacceptable configurations, the request is denied. Otherwise, the reconfiguration manager may indicate that the requested reconfiguration is unknown, or may take another action such as responding to the electronic device with a list of other components that would be required to implement the request.
