摘要： An orally inhalable formulation comprising nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a propellant for use in a method of relieving or preventing nicotine craving associated with tobacco dependence in a subject, wherein a daily dose of inhalable formulation is provided in one or more pressurized containers, wherein the inhalable formulation is for pulmonary administration using a simulated cigarette, said simulated cigarette having a housing, a reservoir configured to receive and contain a charge of inhalable formulation from the pressurized container, and an outlet valve, and wherein said daily dose of inhalable formulation comprises a deliverable daily dose of less than 60 mg of nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

摘要： A simulated cigarette having a generally cylindrical cigarette like housing (1) with a main axis, the housing containing a reservoir (4) of a pressurised inhalable composition. The reservoir (4) has a reservoir outlet at one end which is selectively closed by an outlet valve (5). The simulated cigarette further comprises a tube (20) with a through bore (21) extending along a substantial portion of the reservoir (4) from the vicinity of the reservoir outlet such that composition flows into a tube bore inlet and along the tube bore to the reservoir outlet. The tube inlet end is retained such that the axis passes through the inlet end and so that the tube bore inlet is positioned in the axial sense in the central 50% of the volume of the reservoir.

摘要： An inhaler comprising a source of inhalable composition. An outlet flow path (10) is provided for the composition from the source to a composition outlet at an outlet end of the inhaler. Means (12, 13, 14) are provided to generate a flow of composition from the source along the outlet flow path and out of the composition outlet when suction is applied to the outlet end. A pair of air outlets (21) at the outlet end are arranged on opposite sides of the composition outlet through which air is drawn in respective air jets when suction is applied to the outlet end. A drawer (8) is provided in the side of the refill device with a recess (4) for the simulated cigarette (1). A resilient member (13) biases the drawer open to allow access to the simulated cigarette (1). A latch (14) is releasable by an inward movement of the drawer (8) whereupon the drawer is unlatched and urged by the resilient member (13) to the open position. The latch (14) is automatically engageable upon closure of the drawer (8) to hold the drawer in a closed position against the action of the resilient member.

摘要： An inhaler comprising a reservoir of an inhalable composition. A housing contains the reservoir and has an outlet end and an opposite end. A composition flow path for the flow of the composition extends from the reservoir along the flow path and out of a composition outlet at the outlet end of the housing. A flexible diaphragm within the housing defines an air flow path from an air inlet to an air outlet at the outlet end of the housing, the diaphragm extending past the air flow inlet towards the opposite end separating the air flow path on one side of the diaphragm from the remainder of the housing on the opposite side of the diaphragm. A valve element is movable with the diaphragm and biased by a biasing force into a position in which it closes the composition flow path, wherein suction on the outlet end reduces the pressure in the air flow chamber thereby lifting the valve element against the biasing force to open the composition flow path; and wherein the biasing force is arranged to close the composition flow path once the suction ceases.
