摘要： An orally inhalable formulation comprising nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a propellant for use in a method of relieving or preventing nicotine craving associated with tobacco dependence in a subject, wherein a daily dose of inhalable formulation is provided in one or more pressurized containers, wherein the inhalable formulation is for pulmonary administration using a simulated cigarette, said simulated cigarette having a housing, a reservoir configured to receive and contain a charge of inhalable formulation from the pressurized container, and an outlet valve, and wherein said daily dose of inhalable formulation comprises a deliverable daily dose of less than 60 mg of nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

摘要： A simulated cigarette having a generally cylindrical cigarette like housing (1) with a main axis, the housing containing a reservoir (4) of a pressurised inhalable composition. The reservoir (4) has a reservoir outlet at one end which is selectively closed by an outlet valve (5). The simulated cigarette further comprises a tube (20) with a through bore (21) extending along a substantial portion of the reservoir (4) from the vicinity of the reservoir outlet such that composition flows into a tube bore inlet and along the tube bore to the reservoir outlet. The tube inlet end is retained such that the axis passes through the inlet end and so that the tube bore inlet is positioned in the axial sense in the central 50% of the volume of the reservoir.

摘要： A pressurised refill canister containing a reservoir of composition including a propellant and a nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or salt thereof. The reservoir is at a pressure of greater than 400 kPa at 20° C. A refill outlet valve comprises a stem with an axial bore open at the axial end furthest from the reservoir to provide an outlet which discharges the composition in an axial direction. The stem is displaceable from a closed position to which it is biased by a first resilient member with a spring force of greater than 10N when no external force is applied to a dispensing position against the action of the first resilient member to open a flow path from the reservoir to the outlet.

摘要： An inhalable composition, preferably tobacco free, comprising: nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or salt thereof; a propellant preferably a hydrofluorocarbon; a monohydric alcohol, preferably ethanol; and a glycol and/or a glycol ether preferably propylene glycol, polypropylene glycol and polyethylene glycol, wherein the propellant is present in an amount of from 0% w/w to less than 60% w/w based on the total weight of the composition. The composition further comprises a human TAS2R bitter taste receptor agonist, saccharin, and a flavor component, menthol and/or vanillin. A further independent claim is an inhaler 1 comprising: a reservoir 2 of a tobacco free inhalable composition, a heater 6 to heat the composition to between 40°C -180°C, and a breath activated power source 9 arranged to supply electrical power to the heater 6 when the user inhales from the inhaler. The inhalable composition comprises: nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative or salt thereof; a glycol and/or a glycol ether, and a propellant wherein the propellant is present in an amount of 0% w/w to less than 95% w/w based on the total weight of the composition. A further independent claim is a refillable pressurized canister.
