    • There is disclosed a roof system for a vehicle having a roof opening (1) in a roof part (2,2'). An operating mechanism comprises a first device (5) including a lever (16) and a second device (6) including a lever (7) for moving the front and rear edge of a closure towards a raised position. At least one of the levers (7;16) has, at a first end, a first pivotal connection (9;18) to the closure, and, remote from the first end, spaced second and third connections (8,10;17,19) connecting the respective lever at least to a guiding slide (14). At least one of the levers (7;16) is pivotally connected to a sliding member (22) at one of said second and third connections (8,10;17,19). The sliding member (22) is separate from the guiding slide (14) and is supported by a guide rail in directions perpendicularly to the longitudinal sliding direction.

    • The invention relates to a sunshade assembly comprising a sunscreen (4) having opposed longitudinal edges which are provided with guide strips (13) which are substantially rigid in transverse direction. Opposed longitudinal guiderails (6,7) each include a guide channel section (9) defining a guide channel in which the respective guide strip is accommodated when the sunscreen is moved between open and closed positions. The guide channel of each guiderail is bound on the side facing the opposite guiderail by a guide flange (14) supporting the lower side of the sunscreen. A part of the guide channel supports the guide strip on its side remote from the sunscreen. A biasing member (16) acts between at least one of the guide strips and the corresponding guide channel section to bias the guide strip at least on its edge adjacent the sunscreen in a direction away from the guide flange.

    • A roof assembly for a vehicle comprises a stationary part (6) for attaching the roof assembly to the vehicle's fixed roof portion (1). At least one closing element (3) is movably supported by the stationary part and is capable of moving between a closed position within the roof opening (2) and an open position in which the rear of the closing element is raised and the closing element is moved rearwardly. The closing element is provided with at least a retaining hook (7) adapted to hook behind a locking device (5) on the stationary part (1, 6) in the closed position of the closing element to provide a mechanical lock for the closing element in upward direction.
      The locking device (5) is movable between a locking position and an unlocking position. The closing element (3) is adapted to actuate the locking device to move from the unlocked to the locked position when the closing element is moved to the closed position.

    • An open roof construction comprises guide rails (5) and slidable slides (6) with operating mechanisms. A roof panel (4) is supported by the operating mechanisms. Each operating mechanism comprises a curve plate (11) attached to the panel and has a first guide track (10) with which a first guide member (9) connected to the slide is in engagement. The slide (6) includes a height-adjustable part (7) which is equipped with the first guide member (9), and which is also equipped with a second guide member which is in engagement with a second guide track (16) having a vertical component. The second guide track is provided at a curve part (13) fixed to the slide (6) which is sliding in the guide rail (5).
      The first and second guide tracks (10,16) have a common vertical longitudinal plane extending there through, and are selectively movable with respect to each other parallel to guide rails (5) to enable the first and second guide tracks to overlap in height direction without crossing each other.

    • A locking mechanism for a movable member of an open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a stationary part which is provided with a first guide, a locking lever movable in a first direction for driving said movable member and for locking it in a predetermined position and an operating part movable in said first direction for controlling the movement of the locking lever. The operating part (which may comprise a second guide cooperating with a second cam provided on the locking lever), is capable of generating a force on the locking lever in/opposite the second direction when the operating part is moved in a first/second sense along said first direction, such that the first cam can move into/out of the locking second guide part of the first guide in said second direction.
