摘要： A passenger vehicle 10, a steering system 18 and a method for controlling the steering system 18 are disclosed in which the system 18 is operable to provide a front wheel steering mode and an all wheel steering mode that provides parallel steering and opposed wheel steering. The front wheel steering permits both linear and rotational translation of the vehicle 10. The parallel all wheel steering may be utilized for linear translation of the vehicle 10 while rotational translation is reduced for optimizing stability of the vehicle 10. The opposed wheel steering may be utilized for minimizing a vehicle turn radius such as may be required when parking.

Braking performance is improved by an additional torque, generated from at least one wheel torque actuator (217), being selectively added or subtracted individually to each wheel during braking wherein distribution and synchronisation of braking force are controlled by a Central Brake Control (201) and a Brake Blending Control (207) depending on input from information-collecting unit (203, 205) giving information of car status, wheel status and tire status.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for controlling a suspension of a vehicle wheel (5) by means of a suspension arrangement comprising at least two linkages (2, 8, 10) connecting the wheel (5) to the vehicle chassis (1) and a torsion spring unit (6) being part of one of said linkages (2, 8, 10), wherein said unit (6) comprises a torsion spring (13) and a rotation damper (15) interconnected by an attachment section (15), the damper (14) and the spring (13) are connected to the chassis (1) and the attachment section (15) is connected to the linkage (8, 10). According to the invention, the rotation damper (14) comprises an electrical motor (35), wherein the motor (35) dampens oscillations in the suspension arrangement. The invention also relates to an arrangement for such controlling a suspension of a vehicle wheel.
