    • An electric vehicle comprises a vehicle frame module (16) carrying an electric motor unit (25) and a suspension (13) including, for each wheel, an upper oscillating arm (29) and a lower oscillating arm (30), connected to a wheel support (28) by means of swivel joints (31, 33) which define a steering axis (11) of the wheel. The suspension further comprises two shock absorber devices (D) arranged in substantially horizontal positions and along directions substantially transversal with respect to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, below or above the electric motor unit (25), which is carried by the frame module (16) centrally on the vehicle. Each shock absorber cylinder (D) is operatively connected to a respective oscillating arm by means of an oscillating linkage member (41). In one example, the spring means of the suspension are constituted by a leaf spring (LS) arranged transversally above the suspension unit. The brake discs (9) are arranged at remote positions with respect to the wheels, on two output shafts (26) at two opposite sides of the above mentioned electric motor unit (25), which, in one example, comprises two electric motors and two respective gear reducer units from which there project the above mentioned output shafts (26) carrying the brake discs (9); the latter are connected to the wheel hubs (H) by means of two drive shafts (27). The suspension arms define steering axes (11) passing through the wheel centers (C) with no need of extending the wheel supports (28) upwardly above the wheels. In one example, with each shock absorber cylinder (D) there is associated an actuator for suspension active control and with the leaf spring (LS) there is associated an actuator for controlling the height of the vehicle with respect to the ground.
