摘要： The present invention provides a method for forming a black electrode by performing sintering at a temperature in the range of 500-600°C after applying a lead-free black conductive composition to a substrate. The aforementioned black electrode comprises a binder comprising a crystallized glass component. The aforementioned black conductive composition comprises conductive particles of black RuO 2 , lead-free black ruthenium-based polyoxide, and mixtures thereof in an amount of 4-30 wt%, based on the total weight of the composition, a lead-free non-conductive black oxide in an amount of 0-30 wt%, based on the total weight of the composition, and a lead-free bismuth-based glass binder in an amount of 10-50 wt%, based on the total weight of the composition.

In particular, the invention is directed to flat panel display applications, including alternating-current display panel applications. Still further, the invention is directed to composition(s) utilizing conductive metal oxides selected from an oxide of two or more elements selected from Ba, Ru, Ca, Cu, Sr, Bi, Pb, and the rare earth metals and photocrosslinkable polymers. These compositions are particularly useful in making photoimageable black electrodes for flat panel display applications.

A thick film resistor composition comprising an electrically conducting component, ruthenium oxide and/or glass binder comprising a mixture of a first glass comprising 30-60% by weight of SiO₂, 5-30% by weight of CaO, 1-40% by weight of B₂O₃, 0-50% by weight of PbO and 0-20% by weight of Al₂O₃ in which the total of SiO₂, CaO, B₂O₃, PbO and Al₂O₃ amounts to at least 95% by weight thereof; and a second glass comprising a PbO-SiO₂ type glass with the PbO amounting to at least 50% by weight thereof, wherein the ratio of said electrically conducting component of said thick film resistor composition is 10-50% by weight, that of the first glass is 5-35% by weight and that of the second glass is 5-40% by weight.

摘要： This invention is directed to black conductive compositions, black electrodes made from such compositions and methods of forming such electrodes. The black conductive compositions according to the invention comprise, based on the weight of the total composition:
3-50 weight percent of conductive metal oxide particles selected from RuO 2 , ruthenium polyoxide, and mixtures thereof;
25-85 weight percent organic matter comprising organic polymer binder and organic solvent; and
5-70 weight percent of one or more lead-free bismuth glass binders wherein said glass binder comprises, based on the total weight of the glass binder: 55-85% Bi 2 O 3 , 0-20% SiO 2 , 0-5% Al 2 O 3 , 2-20% B 2 O 3 , 0-20% ZnO, 0-15% of one or more of oxides selected from BaO, CaO, and SrO; and 0-3% of one or more of oxides selected from Na 2 O, K 2 O, Cs 2 O, Li 2 O and mixtures thereof; and
wherein the softening point of said glass binder is in the range 400- 600°C; and
wherein said composition is lead-free or substantially lead-free.

A method of manufacturing thick-film resistor elements by applying a thick-film resistor composition, obtained by dispersing a conductive component and an inorganic binder in an organic medium and which has a specified rheology, through a clear relief image obtained by exposing, curing, and developing a resist layer of a photopolymerizable mixture formed on an insulating substrate according to the resist pattern, and the thick-film paste obtained at this time has almost the same thickness as the photopolymerizable layer on the surface of the insulating substrate and is patterned according to the high-precision pattern defined by the sharp, linear, lateral edge enclosed by the resist image removed by development.
