摘要： An endoprosthetic device for treating abdominal aortic aneurysms using suprarenal fixation. A stent ring is anchored in an area above the renal arties using self-flaring barbs that project during the nitinol expansion process. Sutures extend from the stent ring to an area below the renal arties to a bifurcated trunk portion (30) comprising a nitinol fabric on a non-kinking frame. The bifurcated trunk is sealed proximal the iliac arteries and includes iliac leg holders having self-flaring retention struts for non-traumatic holding of iliac leg prosthetics. Suprarenal fixation and collapsible cells (400,500) having retention projections and barbs that only flare during the nitinol expansion process assist in lowering the devices profile and sheathability for percutaneous delivery and may provide for recapturing the anchored device.

摘要： A guidewire navigable through body vessels of a human subject for delivery of a catheter or the like is provided. The guidewire includes an expandable segment movable between a collapsed state and an expanded state. If the catheter encounters resistance in a vessel and cannot be advanced further, the medical professional can move the expandable segment to the expanded state in which the expandable segment engages an inner surface of the catheter. The expandable segment locks onto the catheter, which allows the guidewire and catheter to be advanced through the vessel together as a single unit. An inflatable balloon catheter movable along the guidewire requires only a single tube and is sealed by the expandable segment of the guidewire for subsequent inflation.

摘要： The present application is directed to a prosthesis (10) for treating, repairing, and/or replacing an abdominal aortic aneurysm. The prosthesis includes a coiled stent (12) comprised of shape memory material having first (28) and second (30) anchoring zones and an intermediate zone. The prosthesis also includes graft material (14) engaging at least a portion of the stent. During delivery of the prosthesis, the stent is in a substantially straight longitudinal configuration, and after delivery of the prosthesis the stent is returned to a coiled configuration. The diameter of the prosthesis may be adjusted by controlling the degree to which the stent is coiled.

摘要： A catheterization system and method including a rapid exchange emboli capture guidewire system comprising a distal emboli protection device is disclosed. The protection device is delivered to an area of interest via a delivery sheath including a longitudinal exit configured to permit the sheath to be peeled away from the guidewire to speed its removal. A capture sheath having a side-port is used to capture and retrieve the filter after a catheterization treatment procedure in a time saving manner. A torque steering device is used to steer the device and is adapted to clamp onto the guidewire while leaving sheaths free to prevent inadvertent steering of the sheaths. Using the sheaths of the present invention also allows systems to use shorter guidewires than prior art systems, further speeding the catheterization procedures being performed.
