The motor includes a motor housing having a substantially cylindrical body and a back plate, the cylindrical body of the motor housing defining a slot at or proximate the back plate; a stator housed within the motor housing; a rotor pivotably arranged inside the stator, the rotor including a rotor shaft, a rotor core rotatably mounted on the rotor shaft and housing rotor magnets therein, and a sense magnet ring affixed to the rotor shaft and having magnets aligned with the rotor magnets; and a positional sensor board having positional sensors mounted thereon, the positional sensor board being received through the slot of the motor housing to dispose the positional sensors in close proximity to the sense magnet ring.

摘要： A control unit for controlling commutation of a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor provided. The control unit controls high-side and low-side switches arranged between a power source and the motor and configured as a three-phase bridge to commutate the motor. The control unit is configured to provide drive signals to drive each of the high-side and low-side switches to control, for each phase of the bridge, a pulse-width modulation (PWM) of one of the high-side or low-side switches. For each phase of the bridge, immediately following a first cycle ending with a falling edge of the drive signal for one of the high-side or low-side switches, the control unit introduces a special commutation edge pulse in the drive signal of the other of the high-side or low-side switches to shunt the current from the motor before turning both the high-side and the low-side switches off during a second cycle.

摘要： A brushless DC (BLDC) motor is provided including a stator assembly and a rotor rotatably arranged inside the stator. The stator assembly includes a generally-cylindrical lamination stack including a stator ring and stator teeth extending radially inwardly from the stator ring towards a center bore, where the center bore is arranged to receive the rotor therein. The stator assembly further includes an end insulator disposed at an and of the lamination stack, where the end insulator includes a generally-cylindrical outer ring and teeth portions extending radially inwardly from the outer ring towards a center of the end insulator, and the outer ring and the teeth portion correspond to the stator ring and the stator teeth. Stator windings are wound around the stator teeth and the corresponding teeth portion of the end insulator. Each tooth portion includes an outer face having a sloped portion sloped at an angle in the direction of the outer ring of the end insulator to bias the stator windings towards the outer ring.

The lamination stack includes laminations affixed together and having slots that align axially to receive a plurality of rotor magnets therein; and an end lamination having generally the same profile as the laminations and affixed to an end of the laminations, the end lamination having slots that correspond to the slots of the laminations, the end lamination integrally including radial projections that partially project into the slots of the end lamination, each radial projections engaging an end of a corresponding rotor magnet to axially block the rotor magnet within a corresponding slot of the laminations.
