    • The liquid discharge device of the present invention comprises a piezoelectric actuator 11 and a flow passage member 21. The piezoelectric actuator 11 has a plurality of driving electrodes 15 formed on a piezoelectric ceramic layer 14, and a plurality of piezoelectric displacement elements 16 disposed longitudinally and laterally with regularity. In the flow passage member 21, a plurality of liquid compressing chambers 23 are formed with liquid outlet orifices 22. The piezoelectric actuator 11 is placed on the flow passage member 21, so that the driving electrodes 15 correspond in position to the liquid compressing chambers 23. A plurality of piezoelectric displacement elements 16 are disposed longitudinally in N lines (N≧4) and have dot density of not less than 300 dpi in lateral direction. The ratio (B/A) of arrangement interval B between the driving electrodes 15 in longitudinal direction to arrangement interval A between the driving electrodes 15 in lateral direction is 0.95 to 1.5. The minimum distance D between the neighboring driving electrodes 15 is 0.15A or more, D≧0.15A. This can suppress cross talk.

    • An inkjet head includes a cavity unit (2) and a piezoelectric unit (20) stacked on the cavity unit. The cavity unit has a plurality of ink pressure chambers (19A) and a plurality of nozzles being in fluid communication with respective ones of the ink pressure chambers. The piezoelectric unit includes a laminate of four piezoelectric layers (21,22,23,24) and two common electrodes (22A,24A). The piezoelectric unit is provided with a plurality of driving electrodes (20A) formed on a top face thereof at positions corresponding to respective ones of the pressure chambers. One of the common electrodes (22A) is provided between the upper most piezoelectric layer (21) and the piezoelectric layer immediately therebelow (22) so as to extend substantially over the whole area defined between those two piezoelectric layers. The other common electrode (24A) is located between the lower most piezoelectric layer (24) and the piezoelectric layer immediately thereabove (23) so as to extend substantially over the whole area defined therebetween.

    • An ink-jet head includes a passage unit (4) comprising a plurality of pressure chambers (10) each connected with a nozzle (8) and arranged in a matrix in a plane to form a plurality of pressure chamber rows (11a,11b) in a first direction (A) in the plane, and a plurality of common ink passages (5a) each extending along the first direction and communicating with the pressure chambers. The pressure chamber rows include first pressure chamber rows (11a) each constituted by pressure chambers (10a) each connected with a nozzle deviated on one side thereof with respect to a second direction crossing the first direction, and second pressure chamber rows (11b) each constituted by pressure chambers (10b) each connected with a nozzle deviated on the other side thereof with respect to the second direction, when viewing from a third direction perpendicular to the plane. Each of the common ink passages including at least a boundary region between one of the first pressure chamber rows and one of the second pressure chamber rows neighboring each other so that nozzles connected with the pressure chambers in the each pressure chamber rows face outward each other when viewing from the third direction, and each of the common ink passages not overlapping any of the nozzles.
