    • Since CO2 is identified as a main greenhouse gas, its capture and storage is essential to control global warming. Flexible operation of CCPPs (combined cycle power plants) with CO2 capture system (18) will increase the competitiveness of CCPPs designed for CO2 capture and will allow earlier introduction of this kind of plants. The main objective of the present invention is to increase the CCPP net power and improve the operating characteristics by taking advantage of the additional power and flexibility, which can be obtained with supplementary firing (10) in CCPPs with flue gas recirculation and CO2 capture systems (18). One particular aim is to minimize the impact of CO2 capture on the capacity of a power plant, i.e. to maximize the electric power the plant can deliver to the power grid. To this end an operating method, in which the power consumption of CO2 capture system is at least partly compensated by the operation of supplementary firing (10) in a HRSG (9) with low residual oxygen concentration in the flue gases (8), which is due to flue gas recirculation, is proposed. Further, additional ambient air and/or oxygen (11 ) injection into the supplementary firing (10) with corresponding operating methods are proposed. Besides the method a CCPP designed to operate according to this method is subject of the present invention.

    • The invention relates to a cover cap (6) for a connection (5) of two electrically conductive interconnected ends (4) of two winding bars (3) of a stator of an electric machine. Said cap comprises an electrically insulating housing (7), which when mounted surrounds and seals the circumference of the connection (5). The aim of the invention is to simplify the mounting of the cover cap (6) on the connection (5). To achieve this, the cover cap (6) has a spring device (8), which is located in the interior of the housing (7) and is configured in such a way that to mount the housing (7), the latter can be clipped onto the connection (5) and when mounted is supported on the connection (5) and on said housing (7), thus creating a retaining force (11) that fixes the housing (7) to the connection (5).

    • Since CO2 is identified as a main greenhouse gas, its capture and storage is essential to control global warming. Competitiveness of power plants designed for CO2 capture and compression, retrofit ready power plants and efficient ways to retrofit conventional power plants to CO2 capture plants will allow earlier utilization of CO2 capture systems (12). The objective of the present invention is to provide a fossil fired power plant with minimum impact of the CO2 capture system (12) on the conventional part of the plant as well as a method to operate such a plant. Further, a power plant, which is ready for the retrofit of a CO2 capture plant and a method of retrofitting an existing plant into a power plant with CO2 capture as well as a method to operate this kind of plant are the object of the invention. One main aspect of the invention is to add a power plant part, which is capable of providing the steam and power required to operate CO2 capture system (12), and to provide a CO2 capture system (12), which has the capacity to remove CO2 from the flue gas flows of the conventional, and of the additional power plant part.
