    • A pipe-bending rig has an anchorage for holding a proximal end of a pipe and a bending former that presents a convex forming surface toward a side of a pipe when the pipe is held by the anchorage to extend distally from the anchorage. A pipe-bending drive exerts lateral force on the pipe to deflect a distal end of the pipe, which effects plastic bending of the pipe along its length against the forming surface. A carriage is movable along a path with respect to the anchorage and the bending former during deflection of the distal end of the pipe. A link carried by the carriage applies distal force to the pipe to impart longitudinal tension to the pipe as the pipe is being bent against the forming surface.

    • A method provides power to a subsea equipment electrical system underwater, without a wet-mated electrical connection. The method includes temporarily coupling a rotary coupling element of a power source to the subsea equipment and turning that element to generate electric power on board the equipment. Subsea equipment that implements the method comprises: an on-board electric power generator connected to an electrical load such as a rechargeable battery to charge the battery when the generator is driven; and a rotary coupling element that is turned by an external drive to drive the generator. Alternative subsea equipment to implement the method comprises: a stator, but not a rotor, of an on-board electric power generator, which supplies current to the load when an externally-driven rotor is positioned adjacent to the stator and turned relative to the stator. A power source having a generator rotor is docked with the equipment for this purpose.

    • A method of installing a production buoy at a subsea anchoring location comprises floating a production buoy over a subsea anchoring location; hanging at least a tether off the production buoy such that the or each tether extends from the production buoy towards the subsea anchoring location; and submerging the production buoy to a depth which allows connection of the or each tether to the subsea anchoring location. The step of securing the or each tether to the subsea anchoring location comprises tilting the production buoy to one side in order to submerge said one side at a deeper depth to secure a pair of tethers at the one side of the production buoy to corresponding subsea anchoring foundations at said one side of the production buoy, and then tilting the production buoy to the other side in order to secure a pair of tethers at the other side of the production buoy to corresponding subsea anchoring foundations at that other side of the production buoy.
